We had the business owner, Travis ***** install a new HVAC unit on 8/27/23. We paid a down payment of $******* ** *******, and the remainin* *******0 on completion. Mr* ****s installed the new unit incorrectly, with some parts not being attached at all. The result was that the unit started short cycling, and eventually stopped working completely when the compressor went out due to some of these issues. When we called Mr* ****s to fix the issue (we had a 1 year contract for labor, as well as a 10yr warranty for parts), Mr* ****s refused to come out to fix it and eventually stopped responding altogether. When we had to have another company come to look at it, we discovered that he does not have a license to operate in the city, and did not pull a permit for this job. We are currently in the process of having more city inspections done to see what specific violations occurred, but the current HVAC contractor found several issues very quickly that caused the current situation. We are now having to pay that company to fix Mr* ****s's error and will likely have to pursue legal action to get our money back for his shoddy work. *On the receipt attached, it has the name of the co-owner of the house, Yvonne ****.Business response

In response to the complaint of customer stating that parts were not installed, all parts were installed and every time that I returned to the customer's house with an issue they agreed that the unit was cooling properly. Therefore I would like to see pictures of what parts they claim are not installed, because a unit will not run properly if all parts are not installed. I responded in a timely manner every time the customer called. I quit returning calls after the last trip I went on the unit was working properly and they decided to start using foul language and threating me therefore I was not comfortable going back. If I was trying to do shaddy work as they say why would I take the time to make sure that their unit was registered with a 10 year warranty. They should not have to pay anything because the unit is under warranty and what ever issues they are having can be covered under Goodman whether I'm involved or not. Their impatience and lack of listening is why they are having to pay out of pocket cause they could have went thru ferguson and got everything covered under warranty considering it has a 10 yr.
