    They keep calling leaving message. Doesn’t say what it’s for and the number keeps going in circle and website says it isn’t available

    I have recently been contacted weekly by someone claiming to be “******” from CBC. They give a phone number to call 423-354-0175 but I have no idea what this is about. I looked it up and apparently it’s a collection agency but there’s confusion as to where it is a scam or not. I have never received a bill from them or any information as to what it is they’re seeking so I think it’s just a scam. I don’t have any account number either cause I have no idea what this is about.

    I received a voicemail to call 1-877-238-0807 and provide my account number which I did about 15 times and it just kept going in a loop. I was also provided a website which goes to an error message. I have no idea what this is about and I can’t get in touch with anybody. I tried all day today.

    I paid an invoice to Holston medical group of Johnson city tn. When I called to request my monies be returned to my hsa card they put me threw to cbc. When I called and left three messages and not receiving a return phone call they sent me a receipt for a bill I already paid. I got receipts so I called them back. I paid 280.43 and the receipts I received only amounted to 78.33 and I paid 280.43. So I'm trying to figure these errors out. But no one will return my calls or explain to me how they can decide where my overpayment goes.

    Holston Medical Group sent only 2 accounts to CBC totaling $78.43. They reported to us on 2/18/25 that both accounts were paid to them. When consumer requested a receipt, we sent one for $78.43 as that was all we had. If consumer feels she made an overpayment to HMG then she needs to contact HMG as she paid them and not us.

    Keeps calling leaving automated messages and texts but no mail received or actual info on what is being sought. If this is a real debt collector they must be terrible as who would ever call them back to willingly provide personal info. Likely a scam to get you to divulge your personal info.

    Not a scam, we always mail letters along with calls and texts as long as we have a valid address. We are not able to look into this since the consumer did not provided a valid name or account information.

    CBC LLC contacted me a long time ago, and I spoke with a human to determine they thought I owed a hospital an overdue amount. I confirmed with the hospital that I had paid all my bills and did not owe anything more. Since that time, however, CBC LLC calls repeatedly saying they are attempting to collect a debt, but I know I have no outstanding debts. Because the instructions in all of their voicemail tell me to go online and pay, or call their number to pay, I am now concerned this is a scam. I need to see an itemized statement of any amount supposedly due (and to what institution it is due) so I can figure out what is going on. Better yet, I would prefer they update their records and stop calling. Thank you for your assistance.

    Umm, yeah, so trying to pay a bill that went to collections awaiting my accident insurance coming back. Well, I HAVE the money now and they sent me to these people. These people that DON'T have a working phone number... if your going to be a collections agency, maybe have a working phone number.....

    I mailed payment to JC Utilities on Monday evening (four days ago).  My understanding is that pays this debt in full. I was told they remov d the flag on my account, and it would not be sent to collections.

    I keep getting phone calls from this number with no voicemail. The number rings once and then hangs up. Today I called back and they refused to tell me why they were calling or what their issue is, except that it is collections. Again, wouldn’t tell me what the collection is (and I have no outstanding accounts or bills that I’m aware of). This appears to be a scam and if it’s not, they should clearly communicate what it is they’re seeking or hold. I have also not received any mailing or other communication. This is predatory and problematic. Should this not be escalated with a manager or someone proficient, I will report to fair credit agencies for harassment and fraud.

We cannot give out personal information without verifying we are speaking with the correct party. In calling our agency, please verify who you are and we can provide the information to you.

    I keep getting calls but they only ring once and don’t leave a voicemail — then they send me texts about a bill — all of bills through HMG were paid for when I received them in the mail — these people claim I owe them something and they have never reached out in the mail — on phone or text — feels like they are trying to scam me and it’s not legit

    We have sent notices by mail to the consumer. We also send texts and phone calls. The consumer can call CBC and verify her information and we can provide what we have.
