On June 29, 2023 I called H&H Heating Cooling and Air to service and repair my HVAC unit which was not blowing cool air at all. They sent a technician out the next morning.The technician was polite and introduced himself & went out and looked at the unit. I told him we had had to have it serviced and filled with freon about two years ago. He said it was likely a slow leak and he couldn't tell for sure if there was a leak or how bad it was. He could fill up the freon and also put some "stop leak" in first. He did explain that the stop leak did not guarantee to fix a leak if the leak was bad, but if there was a slow leak it could help it get through the summer. He explained that it could cost around $900 for the freon if it had to be filled up completely and another $90 or so for the stop leak. He admitted that he was the youngest and newest crew member on the team, but he also advised that I would need a new HVAC in the near future. I was concerned about spending a thousand dollars on a problem that I have to turn around &replace next year anyway. But - my kids were hot and the air quality was dangerous at that time and I was just desperate to have it fixed. I asked him multiple times what HE would do and he said he would fill it up first before just buying a new unit. I didn't have much of a choice because I didn't have $8,000 for a new unit. He filled it up with 5 lbs of freon, put in the stop leak, I signed the receipt and done. I went to work. Came home from work...to a house being filled with hot air again. It was not blowing cool. Called them back. Same guy came out next day, Saturday. Said it had all leaked out. His boss called him on speaker while taking to me and asked him if he had looked for oil spots first? *** said no. He went and checked and then told his boss there were about 3 spots. **** told him he should have done that before filling it and I needed a new unit. They offered to credit me the $1000 toward a new unit if I went through them.Business response

Spoke to the customer yesterday afternoon via phone and the issue has been resolved. We are issuing a refund per the customer's request.
