In 2019 I purchased "new" tires ** ******** ****** **** from Coker. I recently had a safety inspection done and was informed that my tires which should have been no more than about 5 years old were actually close to 10 years old. Basically, they sold me old tires as new. Yes, they had never been used, but I'm technically out 50% of the life of the tires. The manufacturer states that tires should be replaced at about 10 years old, even if there is more than enough tread left. I contacted their customer service, and their response was "I'm sorry, but basically tough luck. Oh, and when you order replacements, call us and we'll check the manufacturer's date. Not even a promise to make sure that I don't get old tires again. Any follow-up emails to **** **** at Coker have been ignored. At a minimum, they should have at least offered a reasonable discount on my being required to replace them years sooner then I needed to and a guarantee that the tire will be no more that 12-18 months old. This is a classic car and over the past 4 years, I have put approximately 4 thousand miles on the tires and have never exceeded 80MPH. Based on that, I should have had at a minimum, another 4-5 years before needing to replace them. Given the lack of customer service I've experienced, I don't expect any real response other than a justification. Additionally, the customer service person noted that their tires are effectively the best price. Yet, I can get them for 10 per tire less at ********, 30 if I get the extended warranty (included at ********). I also did buy the Coker extended warranty when I originally purchased these.Customer response

A representative of the company contacted me today. I spoke to him and he is going to check the tire date codes on the tire they have(see email below). He has made no other suggestion/offers at this time. He is supposed to email me back once he gets a response from their warehouse.
Thanks,

I bought 4tires and 4 tubes for a vintage car that belongs to my brother in India. It was discussed that they would have to be shipped overseas. The representative **** took all the details and a payment of $1532 (including $475 for Express shipping) and I was told at the time that all duties and taxes were covered and that the shipment would be delivered within a week. There was no mention of any license or duties required and since I don’t do this for a living I’m not expected to know this information. The shipment was sent on 19th May arrived in India on 23rd May but was held up at customs. They demanded a license and failing that a fee of $600. The carrier ***** held the shipment and my brother was unable to contact anyone for weeks despite many efforts. I asked **** why this was happening but his was a hands off approach. He sent me emails saying that this was not his problem and that my brother had to sort it out. I have made several attempts to get Coker Tire involved to aid in retrieving the shipment but got no help whatsoever. The $600 was paid and in spite of that my brother had to pick up packages from a warehouse to avoid further delay or loss of the items on the 9th of June. **** had not included my brothers contact number on the invoice so that was part of the problem. I asked them for the invoice number with the payment they made to ***** but it was declined. I have never had an experience like this where the salesperson is so helpful until the payment is made and then it’s not their responsibility any longer. I would like for the tire company to compensate us the shipping fees since they did not fulfill their obligations to us as promised when the payment was made. It has caused us undue stress and an unexpected payment of $600 had to be made, which had I been aware of may not have made the purchase in the first placeBusiness response

On May 17, 2023, Customer ordered tires on behalf of her brother and had them shipped to India through *****. The order included shipping charges, and the product arrived in India on May 23, 2023. On arrival, the shipment was held at customs and recipient was asked to provide an importing license. Not having the required documents, the recipient was charged and additional $615 fee to receive the delivery. We reached out to Customer on July 17, 2023, and on July 18, 2023, issued a credit of $615 as a gesture of good faith. Customer is satisfied, this matter is closed.
