On 05.xx.2021 my father purchased a Buzzaround scooter for ~$1100 from Mobility at Home. On 5.xx.2021 he entered the hospital and passed away 06.xx.2021. He had access to his scooter for 9 days. I contacted Mobility at Home two times by phone to ask if they would refund a reasonable portion of the purchase price and take the scooter back. Though I spoke with 2 different employees, both of whom promised the owner would call back, no one ever called back. Today I went to Mobility at Home to make an in-person inquiry. Though I had my father's receipt and instruction sheet in hand, they could not find him in their computer system. Mid-sentence the person with whom I was speaking (maybe the owner?) went to help another client and left me standing. As I explained more than once on the phone and in person, I just need a "yes" or "no" answer. The owner (?) asked how much I wanted for the scooter and I suggested some amount close to what my father paid. After all, he had only driven it a few feet inside his house for only 9 days. He said he could only pay $400 - $500 because he can get all the scooters he wants for $500. He avoided making eye contact with me as much as was possible. I thanked him and departed; I will seek another option for the indoor scooter. The customer service was poor. Empathy was non-existent. That it took over a week to get an answer was silly and unprofessional. That their sales from May are not yet in their computer seems odd. Before purchasing from them I would suggest that customers ask lots of questions, write down all the answers, and make sure that their transactions are timely recorded. A non-recorded, more-than-a-month-old transaction for ~$1100 gives pause.

It is not our typical business practice to buy back used equipment, no matter the condition. We would have to sell it as used equipment to be honest with other customers. We do on occasion, so the owner was contact. We are sorry you felt like you request was not answered in a timely manner. Unfortunately, when you came in the showroom, we were already assisting other customers and could not give you our full attention at that time. We strive to provide a great customer experience.
