Closed on new construction Feb 2, 2022- issues existed that required repair/replacement. 1 year after construction, AHP has not completed all repair items, including cabinet and floor trim, inadequate roof drainage (gutters). I had to call the headquarters to get resolution to most issues. I am rarely updated concerning wait time and status, and then only when I ask. I have been repeatedly told “next week” only to never hear that repair crews aren’t coming. This has been a horrible experience and I need help getting these issues fixed; or, have them fixed with reimbursement from AHP.Business response

Americas Home Place is the builder of our new house. When we met with Americas Home Place and designed our home we were told and requested that our garage entrance to and from the house be no more than a single step. My Husband and I are senior citizens, my husband also has some health concerns/issues. Stairs was at the forefront of our minds during the design process. We were assured that a single step would be the maximum on the entrance. AHP constructed the house with the need of 5 steps to enter from the garage. Our concern about this height difference was expressed to Americas Home Place early on in the build. David S***** the regional manger for Americas Home Place was also notified of the issue. However the response was that it was that way due to house placement. Americas Home Place had no discussion with us about house placement being a concern on the entrance from the garage. They took upon themselves to continue without addressing this with us. We own several Acres of land, the house location could have been easily moved within the property to avoid the need for 5 steps. To add insult to injury America's Home Place is also attempting to charge us an exuberant amount of money for stairs we weren't supposed to have and additional block that we were not notified of prior to being laid. They also have provide a house that was not to the agreed plans, nor a house we can easily enter/exit. We also paid to have a larger garage built, how ever that space was lost due to the stairs and they are continuing to charge us for this cost.Business response

We have recieved our customer's complaint. We wish to resolve this complaint in a manner which is fair to our customer. We have escalated this complaint to our Divisional President. The Divisional President has reached out to the customer to schedule a meeting to evaluate the customer's concerns. We will try to resolve these concerns in a timely manner.

We met with Ryan H***** this a.m. from Americas Home Place and signed an agreement to settle the current issue we presented to Better Business Bureau regarding our garage floor. AHP did present us with a check to cover the expenses we incurred with the garage floor issue. I specifically advised Mr H***** that by signing the agreement it was only for the garage floor issue and not any future problems that may come up with the house build.Business response

We have reached an agreement with our customer that resolves this complaint. On March 3rd the customer responded stating that we had reached an agreement.
