I have been with this company since I started my business over 10 years ago. The agent I had was excellent and I had no problems. That agent left for whatever reason agents leave and that's when the problems started. I don't know how I could have been more clear on every aspect of my company when I had to reinstate a new policy with a new agent but somehow or another, the info was put in incorrectly and then when my audit came they acted like I never said anything about it which I 100% did. My audit for work comp 2022 came back $20k over the +$7k I had already paid for my premium. I did go over my estimated payroll but not 3x! I was quoted 5.8% and then at the time of the audit, it went to *****%! While I was so angry, I discussed the problem with who I believe is the owner and apparently he did nothing because I just received my audit for 2023 and again, I owe over $20k on top of the in full premium I paid up front. The thing is, I paid out less money and filed my owner's work comp exemption for myself. So this doesn't make sense at all. I've already switched companies and don't intend on having anything to do with this incompetent company. One other thing they did was set my account up so that the insurer wasn't to discuss my policy with me and I had to get the info from them but the agent on the policy was someone I had never even spoken to and when I called to get clarification, they didn't know anything about what was going on.

      Hello BBB,

In response to the complaint filled by *************************** I spoke with ************* on Jan 19th 2024 and explained that his work comp audit needed to be completed. This is the same procedure that occurs every year in regards to workers comp insurance. The first audit showed a balance due of ********* and after our conversation he told me he understood and would delete his complaint. This audit was based on information that he turned into The Hartford. I gave him information on how to dispute his audit and he said he was going to get information back to The Harford has received his corrections and we received a notification on 3/20/24 that the adjusted audit reflected that he was getting a credit of *******.

We have communicated with ************* about this process, and he told me he was glad that I reached out to him to explain this process. Just an FYI my notes reflect that I had this same conversation with him on 1/12/2023 the year before explaining his need to complete his annual audit and if he had any problems, he could dispute that audit as well.

I hope this explanation will resolve the issue and have this complaint removed.

      Thanks

      Don

It is true that I was contacted by ***. I told him about my conversation with the Hartford. He suggested I separate the the independent contractor addresses since there was a clerical error on my company side but that didnt effect the outcome of the audit. The correction that led to the refund is the due to a clerical error on the Hartford's side because they were refusing to accept ********** paperwork for my owner exemption. I had to print a form they sent me to sign and send back to them. I was already working on that at the time of ***** communication.
