This financial institution has entirely lost my trust. I’ve had simple checking and savings account with Community First for almost 10 years. Up until this year, I have had no issues however, I have had an ongoing problem since September after filing a debit card dispute. After going to the Seneca (*** *** ***) branch to file a dispute, I expected a resolve to the dispute. At this time, I froze the account as I was already planning to move away from using Community First as my primary institution. Also at this time, I made sure that both my checking and saving accounts had the minimum balances to avoid any fees However almost a month later, I noticed that I was charged a $10 fee and the funds from the dispute had not been refunded to my account. From here, I called the branch and was informed that my dispute was somehow never filed and was essentially “non existent”. They informed me that I would need to come into the branch to filed the dispute again. Once I went back to file the dispute, I was told I had to attempt to contact the merchant, of which I had no contact information or knowledge of the business. I finally spoke with the Branch Manager who was kind and helped me refile the dispute but asked that I reach out to the company by email. She also was able to have the provisional funds deposited back into my account. I contacted the merchant and got a response same day that the merchant, ********* ************** ****) would not refund this transaction. I immediately sent this over to the Branch Manager from which I assumed everything was handled but was awaiting the 90 day investigation process. Fast forward to today and I see that the provisional funds have yet again been taken out of my account and I have been charged another $10 fee since the balance dropped below their threshold. I will be reaching out to the branch tomorrow. But believe this bank to be unhelpful, uncredible, and quite honestly a fraud when it comes to customer service.
