On Friday, Dec 30, 2022 my wife contacted this restaurant to make reservations for 2 on New Years Eve. It required her to give a credit card number to hold the reservation. She subsequently checked the menu and saw that there was a minimum charge of $150 per person. We decided that this was more than we wanted to spend. She then called the restaurant an hour later and canceled the reservation. The woman she spoke with did NOT inform her that our credit card would be charged regardless. The next morning I discovered our debit card had been charged $300. I then called the restaurant to contest this and demand a full refund. She refused saying it was clearly posted on their open table reservation page that this was their policy. I then asked if we could at least make another reservation and have one meal compensated. She again refused. I have contacted my bank to dispute this. The matter is still pending with them. This is just plain wrong. I would greatly appreciate BBB help with this. I have told many friends and contacts about this so that they are aware of it. Thank you very much for your time and attention.Customer response

To date I have not heard back from 21 Main At ********************** regarding the $300 charge for a meal that we never received. They have made no attempt to contact us to resolve this. My wife and I have shared this with as many people as possible to share this experience. And unless we hear back from this restaurant we will continue to do so. Including the use of social media before next New Year's' celebrations. I think a fair resolution would be for this restaurant to offer us a the opportunity to have the meal that we paid for but didn't get. It's really up to them at this point.
