In January 2022, I hired Elite Movers, LLC to move my property out of a 2 bedroom apartment to a storage unit. There were a couple of red flags during the move but I was hoping for the best. I've used this company 2 times prior with no issues of lost items. However, this last move has cost me over $3000 in stolen items. Jamol G*****, who I am assuming is the owner of this company, discouraged me from going through his company's insurance. He gave me all kinds of excuses:reasons as to why it would turn out well. He then offered a small amount to satisfy the complaint. I cannot in good conscience settle for anything less than what is due at this point. I am so disgusted with this company. The movers being hired aren't people of integrity. The sad part of it all is.. I believe Mr. G***** is very aware of what took place. I think he knew that I was being ripped off. Sadly enough. Sentimental things cannot be replaced but I would like to receive either my property back or compensation in full. What was stolen is worth more that what I am claiming. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/18) */ This customer is correct in the aspect of being moved in January of 2022 into a storage unit. That she has unlimited access to and also has signed a electronic service agreement stating that Elite Movers is only responsible for items we have in our immediate care. I did tell her that going through insurance would be a waste of time because weren't not liable for things going into storage. I went the above mile and still compensated $500 via **** app even though legally I knew she had no claim. I did so just to be a good business owner knowing that she had no rights legally in this claim. She then the next day sends a long text accusing my lead guy of personally stealing her shoes and stashing them. At that point I didn't want any further contact. I stand by my employee and he's been with me for years and has never had any claim of this sort with stealing a client's items. The day before she said around $800 value. The next days text was 27 pairs of shoes and boots. And now on the claim a $3000 value. More importantly she has now 3 months later moved the items out of the storage herself with said family members and is now blaming my company for missing items. Furthermore this is the Licensing board for South Carolina will back that no mover in the state of South Carolina is liable for an items that are load, unload, or going into storage for the reason of outside parties have unlimited access and no longer in the business's control after the job is completed. I can provide needed signed documentation to the better business bureau and would like to have this claim closed and removed.
