After much research we signed an agreement with Linx Legal *** on 3/7/22 to seek their assistance in terminating a timeshare with Hilton. The phone salesman assured us that their cost of $4735 would enable them to terminate our timeshare We were verbally guaranteed to recoup this fee and more once they proved that we were pressured into the timeshare purchase. In the process of dealing with the inability to speak with anyone and only communicate by email, days would go by before questions would be answered. Our first case manager was removed from the company after I complained about her. I had to completely rewrite her correspondence with ****** so that it was above a 6th grade writing level. I never felt valued as a client once that check was written, in fact, it was like reliving the whole Hilton experience all over again. In the end, ****** hit us with a $1950 Reconveyance Fee. If I had not pushed my case manager she would've been satisfied with us just paying that. We ended up paying half that amount! Then ****** let us out of the timeshare contract but with a Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure. This was NEVER mentioned as a possibility as was having to pay more money in this process. So we are out almost $6000 and have a Deed-in-Lieu on our credit report. AND **** did nothing to convince ****** that we were pressured into purchasing even though that was their 'job'. Hindsight is always 20/20! We would have come out so much better financially to have called Hilton and sold this timeshare back to them at a loss. When we bought it in 2014, we paid about $23,000 cash for it. We then bought more points in 2018 for $12,000 with a loan. So basically Linx got us out of the loan and the future maintenance fees but, man, are we paying for it in other ways. Our advice is to do better homework than we did!! Finally, **** never checked on us once ****** sent the final letter.
