Received a damaged commercial cooler. Agreed to keep it with the understanding that I would receive a discount. Driver took pics and sent them to the company. I sent pics and sent them with a claim. Was told they could not proceed with my claim because I didn’t have a copy of the shipper’s invoice????? Absolutely ridiculous!!

Christine, Thank you for your review and feedback. We were unable to review your specific claim in full as more information may be needed. However, the NMFTA or National Motor Freight Traffic Association that sets guidelines for all LTL carriers supports the request for an invoice to determine the value of the commodity, verify purchase dates and to insure an item is not previously used as all these items will help determine the liability of the carrier. We apologize you were not aware of this requirement, and we were unable to move forward with your claim. If you are able to get a copy of that invoice, please message your claims adjuster immediately so we can process your claim.

Never use these people. I was scheduled 3 separate times to have a transmission picked up. I waited three separate days for the driver to show up. My phone number was given in the paperwork as the contact. No calls. Just wasted time. Finally got word from them that the truck could not get to the address because it was a tractor trailer. It was requested and acknowledged ahead of time for a smaller truck, even written on the top of the bill of lading in big capitalized words. So I drive out of town to their depot to drop it off. The transmission was to a pallet just like other ones before and the very rude dock manager takes one look at it and denies it because it was not fully enclosed while he was standing next to several unenclosed pallets of similar nature. He turned around and walked away. Thanks a lot!!!! Terrible service.

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. This is the absolute worst freight company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. My first shipment with this (for a lack of a better word) company, the driver just didn't show up to deliver my pallet of goods. When I called they had no explanation. They told me he just didn't make it and wanted to go home.
I went against my better judgement and gave them a second chance. This was the worst mistake I have ever made for my company. I paid for 1 day service because of temperature controlled goods. They were supposed to pick up a pallet of goods at my lab on a Friday. Never showed up on Friday. They came Monday instead. Whatever, not that big of a deal. Since I paid for 1 service day that means they should arrive Tuesday right? Nope! Never showed up. They called to say they would be delivered Wednesday. Did they show up? Nope! So I called in and they informed me they just never even got loaded on the truck and they won't be delivering until Friday! This is the worst fright service that has ever been. Avoid Southeastern Freight like the plague.

Mr. *******, thank you for sharing your concern. We were able to locate the shipment referenced in your review and we found that the shipment was indeed picked up on November 7, 2022 . However, nowhere on the bill of lading was this listed as a guaranteed overnight shipment. The delivery address requires an appointment and Southeastern Freight Lines reached out to the customer to set up a time for the freight to be delivered. Unfortunately, Tropical Storm Nicole was starting to descend upon Florida with tropical force winds and rain, causing customer closures. The shipment was scheduled to be delivered on November 10, 2022 but with Tropical Storm Nicole turning into Hurricane Nicole that hit Florida November 9, 2022 which caused all freight to come to a halt. We apologize any inconvenience this may have caused and we assure you that once the weather permits, the shipment will be delivered safely to the customer.

I just received a response to my freight claim from April, 2022 where my Yamaha outboard cowling was damaged in transit from Florida to Roswell, NM. They respectfully denied the claim after 6 months because I did not mark the delivery receipt as damaged. The Mueller investigation into collusion in Ukraine was about that long, and my x-ray vision was not working that day, so here I am out $500 because it might affect SEFL's bottom line for fiscal 2022. The most aggravating part is the lack of response by six members of the "claim/customer service" team. It is obvious they missed the SEFL mission statement: Quality is results, not rhetoric meeting/training.

      Thomas,
Thank you for sharing your concern. After review, it appears our partner carrier did deny your claim as the package was signed for clear at delivery. However, it does appear that SEFL has issued payment in full of what you requested to rectify the issue even given the clear delivery. We trust this payment of what was requested meets your need and the matter is satisfactorily resolved.

I got my childrens swing set ordered and the merchant used these people to deliver it. They missed their delivery date 3 times because "the truck wasn't packed right". Then the driver refused to leave it without me present, which at first I was annoyed with, but then when I saw all the damages I understood why. He made sure everything was reported with his supervisor before leaving. Which I thought was great customer service, even though I was so extremely frustrated I realize this stuff can happen. I have gotten the pieces replaced because it took so long to hear from these people, only for them to acknowledge my claim and deny it. The girl Amber was less than friendly I have asked and asked for a supervisor to call but yet still have not received a call. If you can steer clear of these people I would recommend doing so.

      Ms J,
Thank you for sharing your concern. This delivery did not represent the expected quality or normal quality of our company.
I called, but received your voice mail full message. As I understand, Kidkraft shipped replacement parts for the damaged items on December 19, 2021, under their warranty program. These parts allowed for a complete playground set making your set complete. Having replacement components delivered for mitigation is a step we were investigating as a means for resolution within the past few days. We trust the replacement parts met the need, and the matter is satisfactory resolved.

We shipped a door and the door arrived damaged to the customer. The customer rejected it as soon as they saw the damages which costed us because we had to refund the customer per ebay policy. I filled a claim with southeastern even if it was the drivers fault who caused the damage. Southeastern said they were Paying us $11.00 for the damages when the cost of the door was $400. The lady at the claim department said they don't pay for used auto parts and that they were sorry for the inconvenience. So an $11.00 check was being sent to us. Embarrassing but sure had no problem collecting fees from us for residential deliveries. Called and called until we paid those dues. Supposedly it says in their policy about used auto parts. So next time a door gets damaged by the driver. We are only getting a payout of $11.00. I have messages and proof of this. This sickening.

We sincerely regret the damages sustained to the door your company shipped and appreciate the opportunity to review the matter. Our tariff, available online at SEFL.com, outlines the liability limits for general and some specific commodities. "Used auto parts" is a specific commodity limited to ten-cents per pound. While this shipment moved with Southeastern, this limit of ten-cents per pound is an LTL industry standard of liability for used auto parts. While perhaps not a perfect resolution, we are also refunding the freight charges related to this matter to reduce your loss. For future used auto parts shipments, please consider contracting with a custom or specialty carrier and verify the limits of liability before shipping. Damaged shipments are rare, but as you have experienced do happen. A custom carrier may have higher liability limits than the standard ten-cents per pound the LTL industry offers.
