This company was supposed to do my taxes that I paid $250.oo for them to do. They said it was rejected and my daughters SS# was already used...I went back and forth with them for months and they never filed my taxes. I went to a different company and they had no problem submitting my taxes, which makes me believe that Moore was lying about all the reasons my taxes couldn't be submitted.

Ms. ******* was a tax preparation and tax resolution client.  When our firm attempted to electronically file her 2022 return, it did in fact fail validation for a previously claimed dependent error.  We asked Ms. ******* for a copy of her divorce decree to substantiate that she had custody of the child and permission to file the child on the 2022 return and to hand sign the 2022 return so that we could submit the 2022 return to the IRS with all of the documentation for processing.  Ms. ******* did not provide us with the requested documents even though my firm spent about 8 to 9 hours on this case working with her to try to get the critical information for this to happen.

Ms. ******* then went to another party that went and did the same paper filing that we requested the documentation to perform ourselves.  The preparer of the other return made an error in not classifying Ms. ******* as head of household which reduced her refund, but we're being held responsible because she did not want to provide us the documents that we requested to do it right the first time.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

I think I included the docs that they asked for in my email to you.  I sent him everything they needed.  I even talked to Phillip the office manager.  I called week after week and never got a response.  I had to call or email them to see what was happening.  I have all the emails that I sent you and can send them to you with attachments.  He never did file my taxes saying 3 different excuses for why he couldn't.  I'll forward you the email chains.  One was that my ex did something wrong on his taxes, then it was my daughters social was wrong.  It was rejected over and over according to them.  Everytime I called or emailed I got responses like they had no idea what was going on and were always waiting on things from me, but I emailed they everything they asked for.  After December came and I still didnt have a resolution I went with another company who had NONE of these problems.

      Regards,

      ******** *******

Email with divorce decree dated 11/9/23 was not received by this office, and was still months later than requested originally.

Divorce decree is silent on which parent gets to claim dependent children, therefore IRS policy of 'first to file' would apply based on what documents were attached.

Joint 50/50 custody in decree would not also support on it's own primary custody for claiming.

Recommend in the future that Ms. ******* gets returns submitted to IRS ASAP as there appears to be nothing legally stopping other party from claiming any children.
