In April of 2023, Mighty Dog repaired a leak in my roof and everything was to my satisfaction including the price I paid. In March of 2024, my roof began leaking in the same spot again and I reached out to Mighty Dog to have them come out and assess the issue. I'm not assuming anything regarding the initial fix - what I want is for Mighty Dog to assess the issue. I have called the Mighty Dog answering service now four times over the past two plus weeks, each time being told I'll get a call back to schedule. Once I did receive a call back and told the repair person would possibly be available to come out, but not certain on the date. Then I never heard anything for a week, called the answering service again, and now 48 hours later after that final call to the answering service with no response from Mighty Dog and having bee given no direct line except the answering service, I feel I'm forced to utilize the BBB to implore Mighty Dog to contact me to schedule a time to inspect my roof leak.

We had a new roof put on house in 2016 due to tornado in Simpsonville by **** **** Roofing. This company has taken over the business and changed their name. I noticed water spots on ceiling, so called them and they sent someone over. The employee told my husband that two roof boots are bad and leaking and it would be $500 to fix. He said you have to maintain a roof, hot weather can affect? Does that mean in hot climates they dont make parts to last due to heat?? Not sure what that means, a new roof should last more than 6 years. The one prior was on over 10 years and no issues. So, he said he'd have someone call me. No one called. I left a message for owner, no response, nothing, crickets. I want this fixed at no charge. Our insurance paid over 20K for a new roof and it shouldn't leak after 6 years. It was either poor workmanship or bad parts. I just want it fixed at no price.

      Hi *****,

We apologize we did not receive a message that you had called. We have reviewed your claim and found that ******** provided a 5yr labor warranty in 2016 which expired in 2021.  Please note that ******** did not make the boots and had only installed them, in addition they provided a 5yr warranty. Depending on the sun exposure and the weather, boots typically need to be replaced every 5-7yrs. Again, I apologize. If you would like to proceed with the repair estimate, please let us know and we will be happy to get your repair scheduled.

      Thank you,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

My online search says roof boots on average  last 10 years.  Roof is 6 years old.   The average price to replace is between $250-$400. I will get another company to fix and not recommend this roofing company to anyone. Thank you

NEW CONTINUED COMPLAINT Date of transaction ....... 7/21/2016 Amount paid ...................................$5,000.00 for a new roof that continues to leak after several other repairs. This continues to damage our freshly painted ceiling which Erick said he would bring to managements attention but no one has gotten back to us, After filing our last complaints with BBB we responded by email at your request and no one has responded to our email from more than 2 months ago so we are back filing at BBB again. In that email we told you about all the leaks running down the rafters leaving water marks approximately 6-8 inches wide coming from the ridge. We appreciate all the repairs you have done in the past but no leaks should be happening on a new roof. Next time it rains at *** ***** Ct, ******,SC 29642 you need to bring a moisture meter and see for yourself. The discoloration is happening and our ceiling is going to fall out/cave in with a few more rains. *** * ***

I spoke to Mrs. ******** this morning. She stated that there is an active leak today after very severe weather the past few days. I advised that I will have a technician go out this afternoon and inspect it. She stated that she has been emailing us. I advised the email address is [email protected]. We have not received any recent emails from them regarding an active leak.

An inspector was sent out late yesterday afternoon. He with his help could visibly see the wide water marks throughout my home while taking pictures to return to the Mighty Dog Roofing office. The inspector said he would return this morning to complete his inspection. Roof has to be replaced. We do not have an attic so it worries me with the water and electric fixtures on my ceiling.

POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP on original roofing job!

Roof Roof-Mighty Dog has claimed and fixed four(4) poor craftsmanship leaks which gives us a $5,000 patched roof.

I've asked with no response, HOW MANY LEAKS CONSTITUTES A REPLACEMENT or REFUND?

All this rain is still causing water damage to our ceilings in every room plus our closets which is visible to the naked eye.

I just reported a new water damage mark by email with no response from the roofing company.

      Can't get any satisfaction.

      Hello,
During the inspection 2 weeks ago, it was raining. I used the FLIR infrared moisture detector. It detected no moisture at all, anywhere. You had a leak on your porch (which we did not install) and it detected that leak. The detector works fine. You pointed to several areas in the ceiling where you said you saw, at that moment, water dripping. We got on the ladder and pressed a Kleenex tissue to the ceiling and it was dry. You do not have any active leaks.

It does appear that the small dark spots you see are areas that were missed on the popcorn ceiling when you repainted.

The roof was installed properly and in great condition. It does not need to be replaced.
