On 6/3/2021 I dropped my vehicle off for repair of my O2 sensors , oil change and a/c unit for my 1996 Chevrolet Caprice. I purchased the O2 sensors and advised where they would be located in the car. I was advised the cost would be $230 for my sensors and $50 for my oil change. They stated they would call me back with price of A/c repair. On 6/4 they called and stated the a/c unit would cost 2500 to repair. I declined and advise to move fortieth the sensors and oil change. On 6/12 they called and stated they had broken something while trying to fix my O2 sensors and the car wouldn't be ready until Monday. I advised them ok. On Monday I called and they stayed the car wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. On Tuesday they called and stated the car was ready but the price is now $680 because the parts broke and it took them more time. They charged me in excess of $500 in labor because they broke the parts during repair. They also refused to let me speak to the owner and removed a 10% discountBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/06/22) */ On June the 3rd 2021 Mr ******** brought his 1996 Chevrolet Caprice in requesting to replace three of the vehicles four Oxygen Sensors, using parts he provided. The vehicle came to us after another mechanic attempting to replace the sensors, but was able to replace only one. It is our understanding that the mechanic was able to replace one sensor only, and experienced an issue being able to remove a second sensor. When the vehicle arrived to us, we found that 2 of the original sensors would be able to be replaced without issues, but the last remaining sensor was seized and had been damaged in the previous attempted removal. Mr ******** was notified that the replacement of that sensor would require removal of the exhaust manifold to gain better access to the sensor. Further, he was advised that removal of aged hardware could result in broken bolts and additional expense would be incurred. Mr ******** gave approval to proceed with repairs. In process of repairs an exhaust manifold stud broke and required replacement. After completing repairs Mr ******** was unhappy with final expense that included a Goodwill discount. His contention was that additional cost of repairs was due to improper procedure in removing exhaust and sensor, causing damage. It was explained to Mr ******** that the issue with the seized sensor and need to replace exhaust hardware was due to vehicle age and a common occurrence that was unavoidable.
