      I have filed claim due to flood damage. They never return calls. Keep sending me text messages. Poor customer service. Its been almost 10 days since claim was filed and still waiting for an adjuster to show up.

      NBIC prides itself on customer service and apologizes **************** found it necessary to contact your organization regarding service on his claim. While no policy number was provided, we were able to locate a record for ****************. Our notes file indicates his claim has been open 9 days. Initially, we had trouble connecting with ****************, via telephone, to arrange an appointment. On 1/19/24, which is the same day he posted his review, we were finally able to reach him to arrange an appointment. We trust our response to his claim is satisfactory.

      NBIC prides itself on customer service and apologizes this policyholder found it necessary to post a 1-Star review regarding our service. We are unable to locate a policy for *********************** on our records. If you can supply us with a policy number, we will be glad to look into the matter further. Otherwise, we ask that the statement be removed from our record. Thank you.

      This company sent me a notice to say I was late for Homeowners insurance which was horrifying to me since I am never late, when I contacted them they said not to worry and that it showed that it has been paid. The problem was that I had two policies with them and only one was paid and one was not. I went over my 20-day period to reinstate the price that was offered but they denied it and said now I have to pay an additional $600 totaling over $1440. After asking for reinstatement I was denied and she just reiterated everything I had told her. She says that since I overlooked the 20-day period now i have to pay the new price. Why do i have to pay if it is their fault?

      ******************** (*****) was e-mailed a notification on 11/20/2022 advising an invoice was available to view online with a due date of 12/27/2022. A payment was not received by the due date and legal notice of cancellation for non-payment was mailed on 1/3/2023. The legal notice advised the policy would be cancelled effective 12/27/2022 if payment was not received by 1/18/2023. Payment was not received by 1/18/2023 and Confirmation of Cancellation document was mailed to her on 1/19/2023. The Company notified the customer of the outstanding balance due and due date. The legal notice indicating the policy would be cancelled was sent via certificate of mailing, as required. Our system does not have any notes on file indicating the insured was ever advised she was all set and policy was paid. We do have notes in our system indicating the insured called for reinstatement, however we could not allow reinstatement per our company guidelines. ******************** (*****) also reached out to our underwriting department via the email address on file for her online account with our company where we reiterated we could not reinstate her policy. The company did not provide any other additional monetary charges as we are not offering reinstatement and the policy is cancelled effective the renewal date of 12/27/2022.

      Don't use this company. They have terrible claim workers who never return calls. When you call to talk to a supervisor they tell you that you'll get a call back in 24 hours but that never happens. I will drop this insurance company next year after I do a deep dive search into better companies My home had water damage and this company and their partners worked together to make this a total nightmare for my wife and I.

      Narragansett Bay Insurance Company (NBIC) acknowledges receipt of this complaint posted by ***********************************. Mr. *********** complaint concerned the customer service provided by *********************** claim staff. NBIC investigates each claim by gathering the facts of the loss, assessing damage and rendering coverage determinations based on the terms of the homeowner policy and its associated endorsements. In this case, Mr. and ************************* submitted their water damage claim on May 25, 2021. NBICs claim adjuster called ************************* that same day, and the following day an inspection date was scheduled for May 27th. Within 21 days NBIC received the field inspection report and issued payment for Mr. and Mrs. *********** water loss. We have reviewed the file. The policyholder alleges that NBIC did not return calls and that requests to speak with a supervisor were unaddressed. However, our records indicate that all communications were responded to promptly (most usually on the same business day) and that a supervisor did call as requested and left a detailed voice message.NBIC takes every claim seriously and we do our best to provide our customers with informative, friendly, and fair claim service.
