My wife & I recently refinanced our primary mortgage with Rob M************** at Kuranda mortgage. The entire interaction was to say it nicely was not the most pleasant experience. Rates kept changing, Rob kept mis quoting fees, rates, etc... To this day we are still owed money for a service he quoted us in writing. We were charged $735.00 for an appraisal and his exact quote reads $500.00. To this day we are owed the difference. We brought to his attention multiple times now and it still has not been addressed. Our last interaction was via email in December 2021 and that he would check with his boss when he returned from holiday. No response was given since. I have followed it up with multiple emails to get a status update and Rob has not responded to any of them.Business response

Mortgage rates are volatile and do change daily. Sometimes multiple changes in one day can occur. I do not apologize for an informed mortgage Loan officer keeping you informed of a market that is moving fast, with the Fed raising rates 7 times as forecasted in 2022. Until you lock the rate will move. Period.
As for the misquote on the appraisal, I do apologize. As a Broker/Banker, Kuranda uses 15 different lenders on a weekly basis. Each investor charges a different price for appraisals. If you were rate shopping, and wanted a lower rate from the prior day, it is most likely Rob was forced to find a new investor with a better price for you.
If you had agreed upon a refund, then a refund will be issued of $235 per your complaint.
For the record, each investor has a different set of fees and costs. I do apologize for any miscommunication between you and Rob over a $235 charge for a lower rate. I understand your point of view.
