Christian installed my HVAC unit and my parents. We used them for years. My 91 year old's mother's 5 year old unit did not go right on. I changed the filter and reset the system and it worked fine. I noticed a yellow light that had previously been blinking. I called Christian and talked to 2 different people. They said they could not tell me and a tech had to look at it. Tech came out. I got a nasty lecture that the air conditioner should have been replaced when my parents replaced the heater. Then he told me the yellow light means system is fine. Parents had a second unit 17 years old. Tech launched into another lecture that the unit will not last this season. Currently, it is and has been working fine. I told him my unit was 23 years old and he told me that was dangerous and could leak carbon monoxide even tho I had it serviced a month ago ( not by Christian) and the tech said it was fine. I realized this guy was just trying to upsell me. The bill was $288. To tell me the yellow light was fine and a lecture. He did nothing. Bill was $109.00 to come out and $179.00 for miscellaneous???? I feel Christian ripped me off. Christian, you suck and I am going to tell everyone in the neighborhood and beyond about your scam.!Review from David L

For over 10 years I had Christian Heating and Air service my HVAC. I no longer trust this company because when my AC system recently died, they OVERCHARGED to replace the capacitor on the condenser. The technician told me the cost for the capacitor is $501. I reacted saying, “Wow, that’s a lot!” .. then he explained how “prices have gone up”. Because it was a hot day and the technician was standing there ready to work, I agreed to have the work done. A couple days later, I saw online that the capacitor (same exact universal capacitor) is sold at SupplyHouse.com for $93 and Home Depot for $119. Whoa! Imagine that… 10 minutes of diagnosis work and 30 minutes labor to replace a part, and then charging a customer $610 --- $109 + $501. If you consider labor at $150/hour and if the company can get the part for $60, it means I paid a 610 % markup cost for that part. On top of this, they got me thinking of a new system and the salesperson came out the next day giving me an estimate … and if I decide RIGHT NOW/TODAY, they will reduce it by $1,100. What a joke! If it's true that the company has new management, we have to ask .... is the new owner a “Christian” ?? David (Doylestown, PA)Review from George S.

On 7/15/22 had Christian Heating replace capacitor in main ac unit. Costs were $99 service charge and $301 part and labor, discounted, for $20 part and 15 minutes labor. Total was $400. This equals well over $800 an hour! My complaint is that I discovered after tech left that part was $20. Called Christian heating to speak to someone about cost. Was told a call back would occur. On 7/18 called to speak to supervisor. Was told he was at meeting. Called 2 hours later told he was unavailable. Received call from Eric, customer service representative, at 1:00 that l could expect call by end of day. Didn't happen. Called today, 7/19 spoke to Eric who after I was placed on hold relayed message from supervisor that cost was fixed at $301 to replace part. Can't replace part unless tech shows up which cost $99 plus $301 for total of $400. We had them install a separate ductless system 2 years ago at a cost of over $6500 and replace an air handler motor for $671 labor. So we have done business in the past, but the lack of response and high charge this time is a warning to potential customers. It is not the same ownership. I wish I had read reviews. Angie's list and Yelp are filled with complaints over the past two years about same issues. How do they have a high rating?Review from Charles C

Terrible customer service, service technician was ignorant and not very good with explanation, They make there prices up as they go along, so I had my system installed by comfort control who sold out to Christian, had a problem with warm air system under parts warranty. Scheduled them to look at woman explained 109 diagnostic fee part was covered and whatever labor was involved I'd have to pay asked her what there hourly labor rate was she told me 120 Dollars, I agreed they came out and checked problem technician called me saying the capacitor was no good and he had it on site and total cost to me was 420 dollars I was like huh, went ahead and asked him what the charges were for he just kept saying that's the cost I can move on if you don't want work done I asked him how long was it gonna take and what he was doing he again was vague saying its 15 minutes to put in I said we'll how do you know the compressor or motor is ok and didn't overcharge over heat etc causing capacitor to burn out he then said oh I'm gonna check it but the capacitor cost ex amount of dollars I again said this doesn't make any sense 109 dollars for diagnostic and tops 1 hrs for installation and testing your telling me 300 plus more, so spoke to service Mgr about this again he was very vague nit giving me direct price all over the place with cost saying he is gonna try to give me a discount I'm like your not giving me a discount at all I don't mind paying your diagnostic fee and 1 hour labor which was more then sufficient but I'm not paying for a part that should be warranty he was saying well the mfgr might not accept warranty claim this that we have to get payed for filing the claim and all this other garbage low and behold final cost to me was 280 dollars I still feel raped by this company beware of them they make prices up as they go along trying to substantiate the prices not once could they give me a direct cost to anything crooksReview from Edward W

I have been a Christian HVAC annual contract holder for 12 years. Had a Carrier AC unit installed 3 years ago, The outside fan motor failed and the motor was covered under warranty but the labor was not. They quoted me $754 labor to change the fan!!! Same thing, they said they're a flat rate company now. I got it down to $432 after talking to the manager Dan and the tech but it only took 50 minutes to replace and they charged $432 . I asked for their hourly labor rate, get ready......... $369 per hour! Outrageous ripoff under the new ownership, sad to see a good company going down the tube. I'm out of here, this company is not very christian any more, I'd say outright thieves is more appropriateReview from Edward W

I've been using Christian Heating/AC for 12 years. I have an annual service contract on my 3 year old Carrier AC unit. The exterior fan motor need to be replaced under warranty last week. They wanted $754 labor for a 1 hour fan replacement ! After several complaints they reduced it to $432, still a ripoff! The company changed hands several months ago and the new owners are destroying the company. The good techs and salespeople are leaving, this company , I suggest you do the same.
