Savage 61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Oct 13, 2023 Roger F. Worst experience ever with the service department here. November last year we took my daughters new 2022 jeep compass to savage 61 because her break pedal became so stiff she could not stop correctly. I drove her vehicle to the service center and the technicians fixed the break booster pump issue however, they did not annotate the issue on her paperwork. Last week my daughter was driving and made a left turn into the intersection on the highway and the vehicle shut off for no reason. We had to put the jeep in neutral to push it onto the shoulder. We where able to get the car started after about 10 minutes with the savage 61 tech on the phone and drove the vehicle to Savage 61 service center. My daughter was not given a loaner vehicle at all and was declined every time over the course of 11 days. The techs informed my daughter there was nothing they could do to fix the issue or reproduce the issue. The vehicle dash is still displaying start stop not ready. The service center people directed my daughter to the sales department, and stated there is nothing they can do. We expected Savage 61 to find the problem and fix the issue. Instead my daughter was directed to sales to purchase a new vehicle. Why on earth would she buy a new vehicle from savage 61 when she just purchased this Jeep Compass in 2022 brand new last year with all of these problems? Savage 61 staff informed her she needed to pick her vehicle up without being fixed. The staff drove her vehicle 60 miles, claiming no issue but it's displaying an issue on the dash! Savage 61 seriously should re-educate their staff on customer service. Directing a new jeep owner to sales because they can't fix the problem says it all. I would'nt trust savage 61 with a go-cart...

Complaint, New Car Dealer Bait & Switch Savage 61 Chrysler 4645 Pottsville Pike Reading, PA 19605 Details: I have been searching online (Chrysler.com) and via 2 other dealers for a Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle or Pacifica Limited AWD van to replace my wife’s car. I have been told (and my search confirmed) that these vehicles are in very short supply because of plant closings and parts shortages. My Chrysler.com search, however, did find at least 1-5 other Pacifica models at nearly all dealerships within 300 miles of my home, but neither of the two models we wanted were within less than a 6-hour drive. On May 13 I found the van my wife wants (Pinnacle) listed along with 2 other Pacificas on the Savage 61 dealership website. The next day I arrived at about 9:40. Showing a printout from the car’s listing on the website, I asked if I could see it. The first person said: “I haven’t seen a Pinnacle on the lot in a couple of weeks”, but checked a closet for a key, then went into the managers office, coming out to tell me it was “sold”. Before driving that distance I had determined the previous day that the car had not yet been sold, so I asked to see a Manager. He came out and told me the car had been “sold”. He acknowledged that the vehicle had been on their website and confirmed that these models are very rare and hard to find. When I asked when it had been sold (and indicated that I knew that it had not been sold as of the day before) he changed his story to it was “not for sale” and was “a demo used by a manager's wife”, “but I have two other Pacificas for you”. When I said “Are you familiar with the concept of bait and switch”, he said, angrily, “It’s not for sale, and that’s not bait and switch.” When I replied “bullsh*t”, he got angrier, turned his back, refused to talk to me further, went into his office and closed the door. I did apologize for my language. The Federal Trade Commission (Section 238.0) defines “bait advertising” as an “alluring but insincere offer to sell a product or service which the advertiser in truth does not intend or want to sell. Its purpose is to switch consumers from buying the advertised merchandise, in order to sell something else.” The car remained listed as new inventory on their website and Chrysler.com for at least a week longer. It seems unfair to the dozens of Chrysler dealers I passed on the 1 1/2-hour trip to see a vehicle advertised as “new”, that was neither new or for sale. Almost every dealer within 300 miles of my home had Pacifica models that I was not interested in, but could have looked at and perhaps been induced to buy without deception. Savage 61 Chrysler also advertises that they are “a proud recipient of the FCA Customer First Award for Excellence”; Pennsylvania’s most awarded dealership” “#1 Most Awarded Dealership in the USA”, and “PA’S #1 RATED DEALER OF THE YEAR 7 YEARS IN A ROW” Caveat emptor.
