Please see attachment of the full details and timeline of events. On July 29, 2020, we purchased a new ****** washer from Schulbergers in Quakertown, PA. On January 21, 2021, my family and I began to have issues with the washer and contacted Schulbergers. Schulbergers sent a technician out a few days later. While looking at our washer, the technician filled the washer full of water and then snapped off our cold waterline, quickly causing damage to the entire laundry area and hallway. In the weeks and months that followed, we kept reaching out to Schulbergers for help. The company promised to return our calls, but rarely did. First the company took fault, and said they would send this matter to their insurance company. Then, they could not remember who was sent to our home and denied any damages. Our laundry area and hallway had damages and Schulbergers never repaired the washer. As a result of water damage, our dryer stopped working.

      Business response

      10/15/2021

on July 29th, 2020, the washer was purchased from us at Schulberger’s inc. At time of delivery, we suggested new hoses due to having a new washer, we always suggest the stainless steel hoses. Customer stated they did not need/want them.

In January of 2021 customer placed a service call with us stating that they were having issues with the washer. Our technician John went out to look at the issue. He pulled the washer front to check the screens for the water inlet on the valve and in doing so broke the waterline. It began to spray out the hose but was quickly able to turn off the water. In our professional opinion the amount of water that sprayed out would did not cause any of the damages that are claimed to have been done.

The washer is located 2nd floor in laundry closet that is tiled floor like a shower stall with drain. We replaced the hose we broke free of charge. The water that sprayed was clean house water that never entered the washer. No error codes were found, and machine worked properly.

February 8th, 2021 Nate was out to check machine again, and saw no wall damage, and has a picture of most of the wall that got sprayed, and the stall the washer and dryer is in. We ordered a new control panel that was backordered to prevent future damage to board in case it got wet for customer. We saw no sign of water in console. The customer stated they wanted money for clean up but after asking for paperwork or receipts we never received anything. Customer stated that the wanted $500 out of petty cash sent to him for clean up.

Mid-late February, Customer called and said ****** Authorized service was out and told them the washer was working properly and had us cancel the control board order. Customer said ****** told them their dryer “will probably go bad.” Again, we asked for a work order from ******’s visit, so we had some form of information to attempt to satisfy the customer but never received any paperwork.

We have been waiting on physical receipts of the damages that were claimed to have been done, We have been in business for 64 years and we have always treated our customers fairly and in a way that we would like to be treated. We have attempted to do the same with **** ********* but he only wants restitution with money that we have no receipts for.

This is confirmation (case #********) has reached a resolution between us and Schulberger's.  They will make financial restitution, to us, upon your closure of the complaint.
      Thanks for you help,
