On July 27, 2023, I went to Three Rivers Dental in Greensburg to have work done on the dentures and implants that I previously purchased. The warranty states that during the warranty term of your denture, we will repair, free-of-charge, any break, crack or replace free of charge, any tooth loss that is a result of a flaw or in workmanship. The warranty is for five years on the denture and 10 years on the teeth. Also stated on the warranty that repairs are free of charge during the warranty period. I paid Three Rivers Dental on 3/19/2019 the sum of $18,568. We are also within the warranty period. When we got there, they stated that they had no record of me being a patient. We showed them our receipt and the warranty. They stated they just bought Three Rivers Dental and did not honor any contracts or warranties. They refused to even look at my implants and dentures unless I signed a form stating that I would be responsible for additional charges. We said that we did not want to sign any additional forms since we already paid $18,568 and was under the warranty. Currently, the teeth I have are falling out when I talk. I can't even eat with them in my mouth. They said that they purchased the business, but would not honor any warranties. They had the Office Manager come into the room. She said that she didn't even know the person that signed the receipt. I tried to explain to them that I just want teeth that will stay in my mouth when I talk. It is very embarrassing when talking and your teeth start to fall out. Plus, it is difficult to properly chew food with these teeth. If they purchased the business, they should also stand behind the warranty that I received.

I am being charged $4,493.00 for a cancelation fee. I had an appointment with Three Rivers Dental Group on Wedns May 10th at 3:00 pm for a root canal consultation. I had told them I was having pain in other areas & asked them to check for other issues. I was told I needed 9 root canals by Dr. R******. I was sent to the office manager and given a price of $11,000. I told her I need to talk to my husband about borrowing against his 401K. Leah said just in case let's see if we can get you approved for a loan with our company Proceed Finance. I was approved for the loan, I stated I still wanted to talk with my husband. Leah stated I could always just pay the loan off if he could get the money. I agreed and signed a contract that stated I had 4 business days to cancel or there would be a cancelation fee. I scheduled the procedure for Tues May 16th at 1 pm. I told her I may call back & discuss implants instead. I did call back the next morning Thursday May 11th at around 9 am in the morning and cancelled the surgery for Tuesday. She said I only had 4 days, but she could work something out. I went in the on the same day the 11th at 10 am & decided I would go with dental implants, but would likely use my oral surgeon. I said I would let her know within the week. It took me more than a week, because my oral surgeon couldn't get my x-rays & when I called them they said I had to pay an extra fee for them. These x-rays were not covered by my dental insurance so I had already been charged an out of pocket fee. Leah called me back on May 24th stating I could not get my cancelation fee back because of the 4 days. I stated I didn't even have 4 full business days and she said I did. I did not have 4 full business days, I made the appoint Thurs the 10th after 3pm and my appointment was Tuesday the 16th at 1 pm. I called her back Friday May 26th to just move forward with the surgery so I didn't lose the money and they will not return my phone calls. I called 2.

Started with Three Rivers Dental on 9/10/21. Going to receive snap on implants upper and lower. Paid in full $14714.00. Did not finish until 10/5/22. And they still owe me an implant. They are the worst dentist I’ve ever seen. My teeth will not lock onto the implants. I don’t have dental insurance. So I paid this out of my pocket. I want my money returned to me.

Upon review of this patients case, it clearly indicated that the patient's treatment was completed within a reasonable timeframe. The final dentures were delivered on 6/1/2022. Patient signed on their implant consent form that they acknowledged and understood that this would be a staged process, with a healing period that is case specific. Every patient's healing time is different. Additionally, patient signed off on the consent stating it had been explained to patient that during the course of surgery, unforeseen conditions may be revealed, that may necessitate extension of the original procedure. Dental implants can be rejected for a multitude of reasons. (ie, smoking, poor oral hygiene, rejection of implant by natural body defenses, etc). All in which the patient understood and consented to.

The implant that patient states they are owed was not part of their original treatment. The patient paid for 5 implants and received 6 implants total (was given a discount for one free implant, which was received). Three Rivers Dental stands behind compassionate quality care, we strive to provide the best service possible. It is never our intention for a patient to have any negative experience or poor treatment outcome. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of the providers control, these things can happen.

Although we do not feel a refund is appropriate in this specific situation, in addition to Three Rivers Dental Group Washington now being closed, TRDG Greentree, Greensburg, or Cranberry may be able to accommodate you to resolve this matter.

      Sincerely,

      Managing Director

They are correct I paid for 6 implants and received 1 at a discount. But I only have 5 implants in my mouth. And the post on the upper right fell out. Dr.O******** told me that he owes me an implant. I will never go back to this dentist. They do poor work my snap in’s don’t even stay in place. This is a joke. I didn’t have dental insurance and paid cash up front. They should be ashamed of themselves.

On 4/29/2022 I paid three rivers dental in the jennerstown pa office $5,772.36 to have four top front teeth pulled for implants . On July 1, the procedure was done . Molds were taken. Teeth were pulled, and posts put in. On September 6, 2022 the office called me and said they hadn’t found a lab yet to make the teeth for the implants . It is now October 25, and I am still waiting for my teeth. They refuse to refund any money claiming the procedure has been completed . Yet I have NO teeth to show for it . And I am out almost six thousands dollars.

I am filing this claim on behalf of my 86 year old mother, **** ****** (address: *** ****** ****** *** ********** ** *****, phone ************) against the location in Jennerstown PA ***** ** **** *** ************ ** *****). My mother lost a partial and set up an appointment for a replacement. She wrote a check prior to the appointment to the facility for $1200 (check **** written April 29, 2022). My mother meanwhile had cancelled her appointment with the dentist as she'd located the missing partial. This check was still cashed by the dental office on May 16, 2022. Multiple subsequent attempts to contact the dentist to obtain a refund have gone nowhere. The initial time I called in early June, I was told by the office staff that they would mail a refund check to me at my address in GA because we had PNC banks here and I could deposit it (I am co-owner on ****** bank account as my mother's mental capacity is beginning to slip due to age) . They did not send either me or her a check. The 2nd time I called in July they told me they had no record of me having called before and that they needed a month to investigate it. I called August 23rd (1 month later) and have been unable to get a live person on the phone or get anyone I leave a voicemail for to return my call after at minimum 6 attempts. This was fraudulent activity and they do not wish to return the funds.

In June 2020, I had a dental cleaning at Three Rivers Dental and gave them my insurance as usual being the third year I had been using them. In 2022, I received a bill from my June 2020 appointment (almost two years later). I never received an itemized bill in 2020 and assumed that my insurance covered the charges. After calling the company, Three Rivers Dental didn't update my insurance information back in 2020 and they filed the claim to my old insurance. The claim was denied since they submitted to the wrong insurance and I was notified of this after calling them to inquire about the charges. I contacted the insurance I had in 2020 and was told that I could no longer file a claim since it was past the 1-year submission deadline. I asked Three Rivers Dental why they did not contact me when the claim did not go through, and they said they found out this information during an audit in 2022. I requested an itemized bill to know what I am being charged for, they said they are unable to provide this information to me and I must pay for the charges from June 2020. My old and new dental insurance covered/s 100% for visits. I feel they are forcing me to pay a bill out of pocket due to their incompetence. If I had been notified when the claim didn't go through this could have been solved quickly and paid by my insurance.

In 2017 I contracted with 3 Rivers Dental and paid $18,300 to have 4 implants and snap on dentures. The original dentist that did the implants was no longer employed when I went back after the implants healed and it was time to get the permanent dentures. A different dentist introduced himself as the doctor that would be following up with me. I had nothing but problems trying to schedule appointments with him and when I did see him, the dentures were crooked, off center and a myriad of other issues. He would have to send the dentures back to the lab so they could correct the problem…. Over and over and over again. This went on for over a year. Then I became very ill needed to have a kidney removed. I talked to the doctor and he assured me that when I was ready we could pick back up. Once I was well enough to return to continue with the process, Covid hit and the practice was closed. Once they reopened, I called and the doctor continued to work on getting my dentures done. They never snapped on correctly. I had an appointment in August 2021 and the dentist called me and cancelled the appointment because he “blew out his hip” assuring me that he would call to reschedule once he was back to work. After several months, I called the practice and was told he had passed away. When I tried to make an appointment with a different doctor, it was a struggle to get anyone to see me. But eventually, I managed an appointment for a “limited exam” by one of the new implant doctors. After examining what had been done in my mouth, he determined it was basically a mess. The were only 3 useable implants and the dentures I had weren’t making contact with all 3 implants. He recommended a 4th implant be done and told that to the office manager Yvonne. When I talked to her I was told she would have to contact the regional manager and would get back to me. When I didn’t hear from her I called and she told me regional mgr didn’t get back to her. Now she won’t take my calls

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Their response is not valid.  I had appointments in the summer of 2021 with Dr F********* where he was still working on this, so obviously the work could not have been completed in 2018.

      Regards,

I ****** ****** made a appointment at this office in October 2021. Was was promised and documented my upper denture would be delivered November 23. After the lab made a wax impression before anything else was made it was crooked and need remade. I went to the new appointment for the try in and as I got there a phone call canceled my appointment. That was nov.23. I was told to come back Dec.15 No date was set on when I would get denture. I was blamed for hold up because the office manager said I should have accepted the crooked denture!!! Ridiculous!! I emailed I was not returning. I signed a loan with deferred interest from them with GreenSky with deferred interest. I asked for a refund from them and 3 rivers claimed my services were complete!! I also used my dental insurance and Three rivers returned that money to them. I was skeptical of all appointment I was at because I was offered an alcoholic drink when I came in!!! I have a loan for over$1,300. Had to purchase teeth elsewhere in a week . I need this to go away. I was lied to and ripped off . When I do? I'm on disability and not rich! .
