The BBB investigated this company due to the number and type of complaints filed against it by consumers.  The BBB also conducted a review of major search engines and found several review sites which confirmed similar conduct by the company in reviews filed on review sites.  The BBB also reviewed docket listings in Philadelphia courts to determine if there have been lawsuits filed against it and we found none.  Finally, the BBB reviewed the company's website to determine any policies the company had regarding issues that were the subject of our investigation including the refund policy.
Many consumers claim that they believed this company was part of a HP Service and were not aware this business is a third party vendor. Complaints allege that the business is stating one amount for the fee for technical support, then changing the amount and when questioned then go back to original quote. Some consumers state that they are told it would cost one amount and when they tell the business they can't afford that amount the business then drops the price.  Many consumers state they were told they needed a service yet claim they had the issue fixed by a simple solution. 
As part of the BBB's investigation, we asked the company about these issues. The company responded and stated that they immediately identified themselves as a third party called ADVsoft. The business stated several times throughout the conversation that the name of the business is ADVsoft and it clearly states that on statements and receipts. The business stated the price varies depending on needs of the consumer, such as the number of devices and the time of the service whether a month, year etc.  The business also stated they make sure the customer is satisfied before charging the credit card or depositing the check. ADVsoft also stated they do whatever they can to keep the customer satisfied and this includes giving a full refund if the consumer later becomes unsatisfied.  The BBB will continue monitoring this company.
