On 12/12/2022 I walked into the gas station and asked clerk for $40.00 dollars on pump 3. The clerk rang up the transaction and I swiped my debit card. The transaction was approved. I walked out to pump 3 and the gas did not start to flow when I lifted the handle and selected the fuel type. I placed the nozzle back on the pump and pressed the "help" button. After several minutes of no help I walked back into the gas station and asked the clerk to reset the pump. The attendant refused to reset the pump and claimed I was at fault for placing the nozzle back on the pump. The attendant insisted I needed to buy another $40.00 of gas. The attendant called a gentleman on the phone and the gentleman insisted that my $40.00 debit would be returned to my account in 3 to 4 days. I explained to the gentleman that the card was a debit card not a credit card. I explained that my bank and pump 3 had no connection. I explained to the gentleman there was no way my card would be reimbursed for the $40.00. The gentleman continued to argue that he would not re-set the pump and I would have to purchase the gas again. I left the gas station without getting any fuel.
