Home renovation can be unsettling and disruptive. Working with Tilghman Builders they do everything in their power to mitigate those problems. Their crews are polite clean and on schedule questions from the customer were never a problem. We have already passed their contact information to some of our family and friends. We have more projects in mind and we will be working with Tilghman Builders again. A very positive experience Chris D***** Glenside PA.

Poor builder. Do not recommend hiring. The owners only concern is completing your project and moving on to the next. We fell for the owners, Joanne and Bob Tilghman sales spiel when they were extremely helpful and told us they would help with every phase of the project. During the initial phase of our project, before construction started, I repeatedly tried to get details ironed out for such items as the pantry closet and mudroom bench, etc... but was told that those items get figured out with the lead carpenter once construction begins. Sadly, this approach does not work, furthermore we were provided concept sketches with pretty mudroom benches and when we requested that the final look similar to the concept sketches we were told that they are just "concepts" and could not be provided. Fact - Lead contractor fails to anchor addition framing to house addition during construction. Framing 90% complete when it crashes to the ground with lead carpenter atop framing, shaking entire home. Same lead contractor we are to coordinate details with during construction. Fact - Lead contractor fails to pick up proper size lumber earlier in the day when on materials run. Instead of making another run for materials decides to saw available lumber down to size on a rainy day, on an extremely unkept work site and in the process has a very bad accident with power saw resulting in very serious injury. Fact - lead contractor put in charge of our project while after being employed by Tilghman for less than 3 months, Owners don't oversee any of the lead contractors work Fact - First lead contractor injured and was in process of being removed from project when injured. Second lead contractor sat in truck all day and was fired. No lead contractor provided after that. Fact - Contractor puts 1" scratch on side of kitchen cabinet during construction. When questioned as to why cabinets after installed are not protected, quote "These things happen, which is why they provide touchup kits."

Tilghman Builders delivers quality work with professionalism. We've worked with them on three projects, and each one was completed to our satisfaction. Their team of carpenters and lead carpenters are friendly and knowledgeable in their craft. Bob and Joanne listened to what we were trying to achieve with each renovation and made sure those goals were met. The lead carpenters are good at communicating what has to be done, and guiding us through any unexpected bumps along the way. They're organized and truly care about their work.
