If I could give -5 stars I would! As a small business owner one of my first mistakes was going with local flavor. They promise you the world, but when you sign up with them you start seeing the ugly truth. First of all the promises of new customers when they sell up to 5 coupons to one individual ? I see the same people using an ad meant for new customers. Second to boost their own sales they use a third party companies to sell the coupons which was never disclosed. I had also opted for one of their online ads which was the biggest scam!! I live in the area and I got ads through different companies which I regularly see on my devices, but never have I seen my clipper ad, neither have my customers. I highly don’t recommend working with this company as a business. And for consumers just know if you are buying coupons from this company it only aids them and hurts local businesses.

Local flavor is a very unethical company. There is a restaurant called dominican sabor in syracuse NY which had been closed for going on 5 months now, all while still selling certificates. I have already had 2 certificates expire and have 2 more still valid but when I asked then for an exchange because the restaurant is closed they denied it and said they would not. The worst part is they are fully aware the restaurant is closed based on complaints. But yet shamelessly promote the business. Just today I received an email with the subject "50% Off at Dominican Sabor? Yes, Please!" So all while they know the business is closed and denying any types of exchanges to customers they are still promoting this closed business and receiving money for it. I will soon contact the local news about this scam. And shame on local flavor or still promoting this closed business all while receiving their commissions from people purchasing them based on their misleading and lying emails. And they have the nerve to respond to reviews here basically saying it's in the terms and conditions that they can scam us.

After attempting to use a dining cert at a restaurant in Syracuse NY which has been closed for 3 months now for "updating" yet only stays open for catering, we asked for a refund. The answer - "no". Asked again but this time for "exchange" - the answer was "no". They insist they are reopening and no exchanges allowed. They continue to sell Dominican Sabor Local Flavor certs. Scam alert!

This consumer was informed that the policy he agreed upon was for confirmed business closures. This merchant only confined a temporary closure for renovations and stated they were not out of business. Being he is outside the 14-day refund policy he agreed upon, he is required to hold on to the deal until the merchant re-opens, who stated all deals would be redeemed once that happens. He does not have a credit option until we legally have the out-of-business confirmation which we do not have and is part of the TOC he agreed upon

I only used the service once.. but immediately after I signed up and gave my phone number I started getting these weird scam text about how the government is going to give me money and all other common phishing scams. I get at least three daily and no way to stop them.. I now know that this company sells all your information and believes that is how they make their money. If could go back in time I would never sign up for this local deal with them again. Big deal, I saved three dollars but trying to get rid of all these scam calls and texts daily is impossible..Stay away.

S******** and scammers . We purchased a certificate for a restaurant then found out it was DINE IN ONLY! only after receiving the certificate! Contacted LOCAL FLAVOR CUSTOMER SERVICE by email bc they don’t disclose a phone #. Bottom line is after 12 Back-and-forth emails the rep I was dealing with said it was a coupon and not a certificate which we paid $10 for all **** I will be contacting my credit card company and letting everyone know local flavor is a total sham! Then after complaining they had the nerve to make their certificate disappear how do you like that? ********!!!

This consumer presented a certificate number that was a Free Coupon download that they did not pay for. This consumer was asked to present a valid certificate number that was actually paid for and they failed to comply. Once the consumer gives the correct certificate number we are happy to confirm it was paid for and refund and or credit where needed.

This consumer has been credited as a courtesy to the refund policy agreed upon. Her deal is not missing. She presented a free coupon she did not pay for and there was nothing we could refund on that. This consumer has an account under the email address ********@icloud.com not the account that she sent this review in. This consumer is now fully taken care of.

I saw an advertisement in the Local Flavor for Francisco's Landscape Services and there was a coupon for landscaping work for $260 + tax, weed abatement, yard/property cleanup or special project, includes up to 8 hours of labor dump fee not included. I contacted Francisco so he could give me a quote. I wanted bushes along my driveway trimmed & some jade plants to be pulled. He took a look at the area & quoted me $400+ for the job because it would be at least 4 hours to do. I explained I had a coupon & he finally agreed to do the job after he hesitated about it for a few minutes. He was scheduled to do the job on March 8th so I took time off from my job to be there. He never showed up nor contacted me. After a few texts, he contacts me to let me know he was sick. Then told me he would be back on March 14th. I couldn't be home on March 14th so I contacted him to let him know March 18th would work for me. Well it's now March 22nd and no word from Francisco even when I texted him to ask if he's going to reschedule. I don't think his advertisement should be in the magazine if he's not going to honor what he's advertising, let alone to actually come out to do the job. If you're reading this don't hire this guy. And I'd be weary about the house cleaning ad that's combined with his advertisement. It's probably affiliated with his shady business too.

This company was wonderful and had great customer service. If you accidentally bought something, they would happily refund you.I bought a restaurant Coupon only to find out the restaurant is open weird hours, very late night and is an hour from home. I could never reach the establishment during its hours of operation. After explaining this to customer service, this is copy and pasted the response I got; "You are not entitled to a refund/credit as this is a personal choice not to use the deal" Sad day, RIP local flavor... We'll never be using this company again. Groupon still has integrity in their customer service dept.

We do appreciate all feedback and thank the customer for taking the time to write us about their personal experience. We have confirmed this merchant did not deny this consumer any services. This consumer made a personal choice not to use their deal. They agreed to the 14 day refund policy. This consumer contacted us at expiration of this deal. He essentially had a full year to use the deal and did not do so. The consumer was provided all available deals for using in PDF form and his account was closed per his request.
