On or about December 1, 2024, I started sending emails and inquires with regards to PowerPay abiding by the regulations outlined in the servicemembers credit relief act. On January 2, 2025, I entered onto full time, active duty Title 10 orders. I have emailed and called multiple times and at no time have they acknowledged my attempts to contact them. After waiting on hold for approximately 3 hours, prior to departing continental US, I was informed that I had called the wrong department and not only could they not transfer me, but that department was closed. I made several attempts prior to leaving ** soil to contact them but was put on hold for extended periods of time and when I left messages, I never got a return call. This is not the first time I have had difficult getting this company to abide by federal regulations. August of 2020, I started contacting them for my activation in October 2020. I never got anywhere then, I'm hoping the better business bureau can provide some assistance.Business Response

We are a business that has worked with Power Pay since April of 2020 to help our customers secure financing for home projects, exclusively through no-dealer-fee loans. On a job completed 2/24/25, we discovered that Power Pay charged us a $1,470 dealer fee. We had agreed with Power Pay not to incur dealer fees, and instead of the $21,000 we were expecting, they intended to send us only $19,530. To be clear, we have never paid a fee before and have had 2 jobs this year 2025 financed by Power Pay, one of those jobs, we just received funds from them on 2-19-2025. Power Pay claimed their terms had changed but never notified us. We have always made it clear that we would not accept loans with dealer fees. They then argued that the customer could only be approved with the dealer-fee loan, but we would rather have a customer declined than accept the fee. How and why the customer was approved is not our concern or problem, they approved this customer knowing what our terms are and therefore the loss should be theirs not ours. When we pushed back, Power Pay refused to fund the loan if we had the customer pay us the $1,470 separately. This is problematic, as our contract with the customer states they owe us ************* multiple discussions with Power Pay and the customer, ********************** refused to address the issue. With no other financing option for the customer and the work already done, we had no choice but to accept the $19,530 as payment in full from the customer. However, we are requesting ********************** pay us the $1,470 they owe us.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: This business never reached out to us as they say they did in there reply, they flat out lied. The facts are everything we said in our original complaint is true, they never reached out to correct this, their website still today has on it that they offer no dealer fee loans, that alone is false advertising and horrible business practices. This is a horrible company and I would recommend to anyone and everyone both merchants and consumers not to do business with them. They Lie about everything.

I would like for someone from your department to review the bills. I've had other loans with higher interest rates and do not understand why there's such a big discrepancy between what I've paid so far and the balance due.

My complaint is (see invoices below). I want to know why this company is applying 100% of my payment to interest.Payments started in Sep 2024 and (it appears) according to their invoices that the entire amount is being applied towards interest. I logged onto **************** and reviewed that they have this loan SCHEDULED for 15 YEARS - which brings the total amount paid to $48,240.I was not made aware that this LOAN would be drawn out 15 yrs and that all of my payments would be applied towards INTEREST. That is INSANE.I have been trying for over a week to call the company but they NEVER answer their phone. You request a CALL BACK and either they NEVER call back or they call back after an hour or so has passed - at which time - I have to go to bed or go to work, etc.I have purchased MANY vehicles in my lifetime so I am aware of the concept of INTEREST being applied to the original price - BUT NOT TO THE POINT THAT IT MORE THAN DOUBLES THE COST OF THE PROJECT (which in my opinion was over priced to begin with). Please explain to me how a company can charge/apply payments etc to where in the end - the amount being paid is MORE THAN DOUBLE. At most a person will pay approximately $8,000 in finance charges - NOT $27,100 IN FINANCE CHARGES!!!!!!!Business Response

Complaint: 22817588
I am rejecting this response because:I NEVER received paperwork on terms of loan.
It was only after BBB reached out to Power play did they send me an email "stating that interest accrues daily" So basically my entire payment goes towards interest EVERY MONTH.
So again this is PREDATORY lending. I an paying $268 Month and that entire payment is going towards interest as previously stated. As I stated before Terms of loan is 15 years with total amount being paid is ****** - double the amount financed.
The company did not and us not working with me other than stating that there is no penalty for paying off early.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
I WANT thus loan with better terms. Period.

Signed a contract with power pay August of 2024 for solar panels. Spoke to many individuals from power pay regarding loan details and project completion updates prior to solar panels being installed. Solar panels were installed as if no issues. I was even sent and signed the *** once project was completed and confirmed via phone and photos of completion which were accepted. Loan was then processed and have account payment date and everything and reporting to my credit the exact balance and term. Now Power Pay is refusing to pay the solar panel company stating this finance plan doesnt exist anymore so they will not be honoring their own executed finance contract. They are stating computer issue however when applying, during process, and even after completed and signed PAC with talking to Individuals the rate and Apr was always very consistent and upfront now that the project is complete they are trying to illegally get out of paying and change the terms etcBusiness Response

Powerpay has quit reporting my payments since September. I have made several payments since then and have even paid it off. They told me they will not update my credit bureau for 60DAYS which is in violation of ****. The bank is refusing to report this causing my Transunion score to be low as a result. I have filed disputes with ********** however Powerpay continues to provide false information. I am asking they fix this immediately.Business Response

This company charges ***** interest rates. My credit score is excellent. I was sorry that I agreed to financing a loan for my roof with them. I financed ********* and regretted it immediately. We would pay over more than ********* by the time we paid the loan off. I paid my loan in full a month later. I am trying to get a written statement to show that the loan is paid. They are saying it will be four weeks. DO NOT FINANCE WITH POWER PAY. I had to pull money from my 401K to pay them. I cant imagine dealing with this predatory lending company for one month let alone seven years. Find another solution because it is ridiculous that they have such high interest rate.Business Response

After reviewing your loan agreement, we can confirm that the interest rate was agreed upon at the time of signing and is in line with the terms of your loan.
