      We would NOT recommend this company to anyone.We were very disappointed by what we ultimately learned about the financing arrangement for our bathtub replacement project. We made a downpayment (almost $6K) on our credit card, but we were told that our finacing of the remaining amount due (almost $14K) would not start for 18 months. We even discussed that we would have 18 months to payoff the downpayment before we would need to address the remaining amount due. This week we received notification that payments on the remaining amount would begin next month, thereby putting a snag in our plan to payoff the downpayment in 18 months before interest became due to that too. Yes... interest on the remaining amount will not begin for 18 months, but now we have to find some way to make payments on the remaining amount during the period when we thought we would payoff the downpayment. We feel we were lied to about this situation.

      **************************** and sales force should not be trusted. **** and switch loan that was sold to me. I was told I was approved for ************************ payment (otherwise I would of just paid cash) When in reality it was only only a interest free loan. Unfortunately, it was two months later that I found out and my credit was negatively affected. Please read the fine print!! I trusted the lady who pre-approved my loan and didn't bother reading through the details of the loan .

      Regarding your specific situation, you signed your contract with Home Smart on April 8 and applied for financing that same day. Immediately upon signing the application, an email with approval and terms was sent to you and to Home Smart. We spoke with you on April 9, the day after you signed the contract and during this conversation, you confirmed that you understood the terms of your financing plan, which included 14 months of deferred interest with minimum monthly payments. Additionally, you stated in your review that you did not thoroughly read through the details of your loan.


      To further clarify, I have included the financing approval email provided to us by the financing company, with sensitive information redacted for privacy. This would have been the same email you received.  Also, when a financing plan includes monthly payments, those payments start 30 days after the projects completion, and you would have received correspondence from the finance company to arrange that.


      We understand that navigating financing terms can sometimes be complicated, and we encourage all our customers to thoroughly review any documents before finalizing agreements. If there was any misunderstanding, we sincerely regret the inconvenience this may have caused.       I just had a Kohler LuxStone shower installed and couldn't be more pleased with the work. My floors, walls, stairs and all work areas were all covered with mats before any of the work began. The whole process was completed in less than seven hours. The installer explained how everything worked and had me carefully inspect all the work that was done as well testing the integrity of the support bar and doors. I'm very happy with my experience with Home Smart.

      Nelson and his crew worked all day today to install the new shower. It looks good, and we look forward to trying it out. They paid attention to details and took time to speak with us before and after the project was done. They worked with us to make sure the placement of safety bars and shelving was correct. The sales process was also positive - Jared thoroughly explained the possible choices and the installation process. Since we haven't yet used it, I can't yet comment on the functionality.

      My walk-in shower was installed and finished in a day. The workers placed mats and covers on areas they walked across and covered areas near the bathroom to keep them free from dust. After the installation, they showed me how the shower worked and the drain worked. They were pleasant and effective through out the day. I am very pleased with the shower.

      We had Home Smart Industries do our shower in our former house. It was an old house in Philadelphia, original tile, nasty 1950ish colors. I asked Bruce the salesman for a couple of days, I was getting other estimates. He said ok. I had two other companies come in and they wanted an answer on the spot or the price was no good. They did not give me a complete summary of how the job will be done. Bruce did. He also said because of the difficult spot and the tile, it would all have to be ripped out, it will take longer than a day or two, which was fine. We made the right choice. The installation was perfect. We had the best shower in the neighborhood.

      No mistake the second time at our current house. Bruce again came, explained everything, said this will only take a day. I did not call any other company. The price was competitive from my research. The installer Mike came with his worker. Pleasant, put drop cloths all around, told us exactly what he would do. Asked us how we wanted the Safety handle and shelves. The job was done by the end of the day. This luxstone product is great. Easy to wipe and clean. Shower feels great. Easy in and out. The value of our home just increased. Company communication was nice and courteous. It was installed in 3 weeks from ordering, earlier than projected.

      03-15-23, Home Smart Industries contract signed for $17k shower project. Quoted $675 for a ceiling panel.
      04-21-23, two Home Smart Industries installation employees arrived to install. HS employee said ceiling panel needed to be cut and seam needed to be caulked. Seam would look bad and edge of panel is raw and unfinished which would also look bad. HS employee said he installed over 500 of these projects and recommended against the ceiling panel with its unappealing aesthetics. HS employee said corporate must hear it from me directly to not install the panel. I spoke to HS project manager who gave $350 credit and I asked how that number was determined. She said from her records. I said I was charged $675.
      Upon approaching 430 PM on 04-21-23, Installation employee M called for me to look at the shower project. He related the project was completed and went over some care and function topics. I pointed to a recessed storage niche in the shower which had gaps of airspace entirely around it and asked if it was going to be caulked. M said they ran out of caulk.
      The strong smell of burning marijuana outside my front door also didn't sit well with me during the installation of this shower project.

      Even though Home Smart had to redo my first install, I am completely satisfied with them at this point. My first installation team was not experienced and numerous things were done wrong and my panels damaged. They sent out a rep to investigate and we were told(at first) they could not do anything as my shower was installed. My husband and I had to be aggressive and go to top management for a resolution, which was done within a week. Home Smart knew it was the fault of the installation team and they made it right by completely redoing my shower. The new team was COMPLETELY professional, competent, and knowledgeable on what they where doing. It’s unfortunate they used the first installation team. I am giving them 4 stars since they totally resolved my issue when it was convenient for me. I NEVER had any communication issues with them. Home Smart ALWAYS got back to me in a timely manor.

      BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. 6 months after paying deposit - no work has begun. Company has ignored requests and now refuses to refund $8,000 deposit.
      The company forces you to sign a contract and takes a hefty deposit. Our contract stated work should begin within 12-16 weeks. We are now at 26 weeks. At the 24 week point, I was told I had to write a formal request for a refund. I did. The president of the company, Mark Kenyon, wrote me back two weeks later saying no to any sort of refund. He had the audacity to say that I signed a legally binding contract, while his business has clearly not upheld their end. You want to know the worst part? He didn't even apologize. Which indicates to me that he knows he has gotten away with this type of shady business practice in the past, and probably will again in the future.
      This is the worst business I have ever encountered. A complete nightmare. This is the first time in my life I have ever felt the need to write a review - more like a warning to others. Don't trust this company.
      I see they somehow have 4.2 stars on this website. Despite seeing many other similar negative reviews. I just read the BBB's policy and it states "Customer Reviews are not used in the calculation of the BBB Rating." That explains it.
      I wish I had known that before. I think it is safe to assume that this business's Google rating is fake (they probably used a 3rd party service to pay for fake reviews). Go to Yelp to read the real reviews. On Yelp the business has 2.0 star rating which seems far more accurate.
