I had central Oregon roofing replace my roof in 2017. Recently I noticed an area on the roof that is sagging. I called central Oregon roofing and they came out and quoted me $450 to replace the ************ reshingle that area. I agreed to have the work done as stated in the quote. I had an inspection done for another issue of the attic and was told no plywood was replaced. I had to call COR and bring to their attention that no plywood was replaced. I had to ask myself, Were they going to just not tell me this? Furthermore I had another roofing company come out and inspected the roof. I was told that at the time of the roofing job back in 2017, that the plywood should have been inspected at the time and replaced before applying the new shingles to the damaged existing plywood on top the roof. The plywood is now warping and causing the sagging. Also in the contract to back up their workmanship warranty they neglected to say they would inspect the understructure for dry rot before applying shingles to the roof to prevent further problems and maintain the integrity of the roof. I feel like COR did the least amount of work possible and feel like as a business they are very unprofessional in advertising they are quality, stability, integrity company. I feel as far as workmanship goes they come up short.

To whom it may concern,                                                                                   12-15-2023

The issue *********************************** is having has never been a roofing problem.  Nothing in Ms.********** ********* shows that it is a roofing issue. The 6 pictures Ms.********** sent are from 2017 when the roof was installed. Our Project Manager *************************** noted This is my best recollection of the timeline & events.I have the email correspondence between ********************** and myself. Please see below and attached.

COR installed a CertainTeed Landmark Pro roof 06-27-2017.

09-06-2023 Ms. ********** called COR because she noticed some shingles are sagging at front of house.

09-11-2023 Our roofing tech performed a roof inspection at no charge.

While inspecting the roof, the tech noticed that a new electrical mast had been installed since the roof was replaced. This was not installed correctly. Our tech installed a new boot on the ***************** also installed flashing around a pipe on her roof.

      10-11-2023 *************************** provided a roof repair quote for $450.

10-23-2023 ****************** received email approval to do the work.

While our tech was there, he saw damage to her chimney, and home owner also mentioned the rise in the roof under the shingles. The tech gave ***************** notes for a repair proposal.

****************** gave ********************** a roof repair proposal. She signed/approved proposal to remove shingles, fix plywood and replace shingles.I also gave her the info about her chimney at the time she was sent the proposal.

Our repair tech went to the property and removed shingles found that this portion of the home doesnt have plywood. It has tongue and groove lumber decking. It was obviously bad. The roof tech pulled a piece out and discovered mold. He put the piece back and installed new shingles. The tech called me.

I contacted the homeowner and got permission for our roof tech to enter her attic. The tech found mold everywhere under the decking.

Homeowner was contacted again, and I gave her several recommendations for remediation companies ( I dont have a ***** recommendation and she was told that). I explained that they need to fix the mold, then the problem can be diagnosed.

She called and said the remediation company told her the insulation was blocking venting. She also told me the prior homeowner had the home re-insulated before she bought it.

On 11-11-2023 she emailed asking to have a credit for the cost of the plywood. ****************** told her we would gladly do that.
On 11-14-2023 ********************** asked for basically the entire repair job to be credited off. ****************** responded that we did have some time and materials involved in the job and asked what she thought was fair.

On 11-19-2023 ********************** responded that she was sending a check for $125.

A week or two later we were notified, ********************** reported us to BBB.

A couple days after we found out about the reporting, we received the check for $125.

We have not and will not cash the check. Our cost exceeds the $125.00.

Please feel free to contact me at ************ if you have any questions.
      Thank you, ***********************; V.P.
