    Pattern of Complaint:

    On August 12, 2020,  Better Business Bureau recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding delivery and customer service issues. Consumers allege they order and pay for products from Stark’s Vacuums online store, and after several weeks they have not received their products. Consumers claim the company is unresponsive to requests for assistance.

    On August 12, 2020, Better Business Bureau reached out to Stark’s Vacuums for a response to the consumer complaints. The business responded to BBB on August 19, 2020. Stark’s Vacuums reported that they have been impacted by shipping issues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The business states they have stocked a one month supply of inventory in their warehouse which should improve shipping. The business further indicated they will be expanding their customer service staff to address customer concerns, and returns will not be accepted for face masks due to health reasons.

      My husband took our simplicity vacuum to clear a clog that he vacuumed up to Starks at **** and *************. When he got the vacuum back, he brought a vacuum to our house that wasn't ours. We took the alien vacuum back to Starks and they denied switching vacuums. The bogus one that we were forced to use just broke a flywheel and we have to have that repaired so we can vacuum. ******* has denied switching out our Simplicity for a Riccar. They justify this because both vacuums are made by the same company. To rectify this bold behavior, I am asking that our Simplicity be replaced with a new one with an extended hose like the one we purchased. I have never had an experience like this before.

      I would like to say that I have gone to this location of Starks since I was a kid with my mom. I purchased with my husband a Simplicity vacuum cleaner approximately 4 years ago at this location. The vacuum needed repairs so my husband took it in. They said that it would take approximately 3 weeks. They gave him a loaner to use. When my husband went to retrieve our vacuum, he brought home a vacuum that was not ours. I told him immediately. We took it back to the repair shop at Starks. The man told us that the said vacuum was ours. I assured him we bought a Simplicity and we were given a used Riccar that was darker in shade than our Simplicity. We took this Riccar back and he denied switching vacuum cleaners. I was referred to the manager of this shop and assured that the one returned was ours. I told her that that was not our vacuum. She backed up her story that they had the numbers that corresponded to the Riccar. I told her that a mother knows her child and this was not my child (vacuum). I want a new Simplicity vacuum instead of using somebody else's cruddy vacuum. The vacuum cost about 900. new. How do you like this for an intriguing story, and, it is true.

      Hi ******,I am sorry that you have had a bad experience at one our our locations. I checked your sales history: on 4/21/16 you purchased a Simplicity Woosh Canister for $219.90. On 2/23/20 you purchased a Riccar Brilliance Deluxe for ******. So from you complaint you stated that you brought in a Simplicity and went home with a Riccar. It looks like on 3/24/22 you brought into our Montavilla location your Simplicity for a new filter. There are other sales in past years but this is current. Can you till me if this correct ? We want to get it fixed and for your to be happy.
