      Signed up for Portland Singles service 4/10/24 after a high pressure sales pitch and have not received any valid introductions to date. Was given a single referral to someone that actively avoided contact. The entire experience felt unsettling and fraudulent. I have called to check on the status for additional referrals the following weeks as there has never been any outreach and was promised follow up and received no follow up. Sent an email requesting a refund 5/19. Also did not receive any response. Sent a credit card request asking for a refund. Company did not contact me but sent credit card a copy of contract. This is fraud and no service was provided.

      Entered contract on 11/7/23. They have not fullfiled the contract. Very deceptive and uses poor business practices.

      I paid Portland Singles for 9 matches shortly before the covid pandemic hit. They sent me out on 2 dates (matches). The first had a record for domestic abuse - Portland Singles claims they didn't know about it. The 2nd dates was nowhere close to what I had told them would be a good match.They gave me 3 more referrals, all of which were not matches according to my profile - I was asking for a ********** they set me up wth an atheist.... that type of thing if which I have other examples. Then after I turned down 3 matches, they stopped responding and gave me no more matches. I got 2 matches out of 9 and paid $5,000 for 9 matches.I would like a refund. Thank you

      These are the last emails I sent to Portland Singles but there has been no response back from them.

      It's been a very long time since I've heard from you.  I spent $5,000 to find no real matches.  I paid for 12 referrals and received 2.  I haven't heard from you in over 18 months. 


      The first man you set me up with had a record of domestic violence.



      So I asked if I could work with someone else.  There are expectations when you pay $5,000 that the men would be somewhat eligible and similar to where I am in life.


      Going through my emails with you, you told me about particular men, but then never followed through.  I have many emails with you setting me up with men that I had specifically asked NOT to be matched with; agnostic, atheist, never married, no children, not active, poor ***********. There was no matching done with the men you wanted me to meet.


      I would like a full refund of $5,000. I am prepared to involve legal action.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      In my zip file above are all the emails with referrals and to **** during the time I was working with them.  They are incorrect that they gave me 5 referrals.  I received two referrals that they comped back to me because they were not a good match so why waste his or my time?  I received two referrals that I met.  That is all.  You can see from my emails that THEY stopped working with me - I believe it was because they simply didn't have many men to match with the women.  **** would tell me about a few men but then never send a referral.

      I did not stop working with them.  At some point, as you can see from my emails, they stopped working with me.  There was no response from **** as my emails show.

      1.  They claim I chose not to receive more referrals.  Incorrect.  They stopped sending me referrals even though I sent many emails to **** asking for a referral.

      2. They state "preferences" are just not, not requirements.  I'd say sending me an atheist when I've asked for a ********* should be a requirement.

      3.  They state that referrals come in as they are available.  Why charge $5,500 when you don't have a big enough base to send 9 referrals as paid for, but only 2? 

      4. They state they were willing to keep working with me.  Please read my emails to **** that resulted in NO responses.

      5.  They state that they sent me 5 introductions that I agreed to meet.  Completely incorrect.  I've sent all referrals in the attachment.  They cannot prove they sent me 5 and I agreed to all 5 because it's simply not true.

      6.  Again they are insisting that I refused service.  No, it was **** who stopped communicating even after several requests for the next referral.  I left a bad review, Portland Singles responded saying they wanted to turn my experience around.  I then emailed **** to ask if that was true.  There was no response from her.  Please refer to emails attached.

      7.  They stated that I changed my mind and therefore wanted a refund.  Again, incorrect.  I did not change my mind.  I asked for a refund because I only got 2 referrals and THEY stopped responding to me.

      8.  They claim they have kept their end of the agreement when they are the ones going against their agreement by shutting off my service.

      This is in response to the complaint Portland Singles received from ***************************:

       

                                      On October 8, 2020, PORTLAND singles took $8500 from me to match me on 10 dates of which I have only been set up on one date. They have not honored the contract and I would like to be refunded, prorated for the 9 of 10 matches I have not been set up on = $7650.00 ******************************* is the owner The address is ********************************************************************* Phone number is ************** I would like a refund of $7650 for the 9 matches I have not received.

       

       

      **************** became a member of Portland Singles on 10/8/2020. Portland Singles provided a match to **************** on 10/16/2020. **************** provided good feedback on this introduction but said that there was no chemistry. Portland Singles proceeded to offer another match to **************** on 11/2/2020. **************** was upset with Portland Singles because this gentleman had purchased a different program for a different price and ****************. Portland Singles clearly states in our contract that there are different programs that are offered and clients do not all purchase the same programs.

       

      After we had discussed this with ****************, we had agreed to move forward and look for another introduction. Shortly after this conversation, Portland Singles was forced to close our office due to the mandatory Covid-19 closure by the city of Portland. When Portland Singles was able to return to our office and resume our business, **************** was upset that she was not given service for 2 months due to the closure and demanded a refund. Portland Singles explained to **************** that we were not able to provide her service due to the mandatory closure of our office and that we were confident we are able to provide her with the service that she signed up for if she allowed us the opportunity to do so. Per Paragraph 10 of Portland Singles contract, Should there ever become a time when you, the Member, dispute any portion of your membership and/or request a refund of your membership fee, Portland Singles reserves the right to suspend your membership until the dispute is properly resolved. **************** explicitly stated that she did not want to receive service from Portland Singles and threatened that she would proceed with a lawsuit.

       

      Ultimately, Portland Singles wants **************** to be happy. Portland Singles is confident that we are able to provide **************** with the service that she signed up for, if she will allow Portland Singles the chance to do so. Portland Singles had no control over the government ordered shutdown of Portland Singles office. Portland Singles is still here and ready to provide **************** with service, should she choose to move forward.
