  I purchased a engine from them after waiting 5 months for it. installed it in my car and on initial start up the crank was hitting inside of oil pan. crankshaft should never move at all. call them and told what happened and to my amazement they would do a thing about it and said its my doing. WHAT! how does that work. now have no engine and out 3300 dollars .i have pictures and video of everything and still refuse to warranty there work.

  Hi, I'm writing in response to Mr. ********* letter regarding an engine that he purchased from my company. I build a lot of this style engine, yes it did take 5 months to build. I tell my customers 6 months for an engine. I've been building engines for over 40 years.

  Mr. ******* states that the crankshaft is hitting the oil pan, I don't install the oil pan.

  It happens occasionally on this style of engine so the pan needs to be clearanced to accept the additional stroke.

       Mr. ******* also stated that I was unwilling to help him.I called him several times to try and resolve this matter. We finally agreed on 05/27/2021  that he would bring the engine back to my shop to determine the best solution so Mr. ******* would be happy with his new engine. About a week passed so I called him to find out what was going on, he stated that he took the engine to another machine shop. I then asked him to keep me informed. I've tried very hard to resolve his issue.

  I am rejecting this response because:the initial start up of the brand new engine knocked extremely loud , shut it off instantly. called d&d machine he told me to run the motor for the breakin period untill it quiets down which is crazy. i sent him a video of the initial start up . his response was i flattened the cam. needs new cam. MY FAULT HE CLAIMS. PULL IT BACK OUT AND BRING IT IN AND ILL SLAP A NEW CAM SHAFT IN IT. . after bringing it to another machine shop which comfirms that the knocking is due to bad rod bearing and just very poor workmanship. THIS MOTOR NEEDS COMPLETLY TORE APART AND REBUILT. METAL SHAVING IN THE OIL PAN. SOMETHING COMPLETLY WRONG WITH LOWER END OF MOTOR. . HE TRYING TO BLAME IT ON ME AND MINIMIZING HIS RESPONSIBILITY. ITS BEEN A CONSTANT FIGHT WITH D&D . have a $3300 paper weight . DONT TRUST HIM TO FIX IT RIGHT. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! THIS ENGINE WOUNDT LAST A DAY SAID OWNER OF OTHER MACHINE SHOP I TOOK IT TOO. I HAVE A DESTROYED ENGINE WHICH ONLY RAN FOR 1 MIN TOTAL AND NO MONEY TO REPLACE IT.  I TRYED TO POST THE SAME VIDEO ON HERE THAT I SENT HIM BUT DOESNT SUPPORT MP3 FILE

  I can't think of anything I can do to satisfy Your complaint  Mr. ******* I've tried and tried to get you to bring your engine back for a proper diagnosis.

  You keep turning away any assistance I'm offering at no cost to you. Your story keeps changing as to the problem now you say the bearings had a failure, I want to see the parts you claim are defective. let's settle this and get you on the road sincerely,  Dave

  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
  i have not rejected your assistance , i just dont have a way to get it to you. as you recall i rented a uhaul to pick it up initialy. my only problem is ive already pulled it out once i dont want to do it again. most importantly this engine cant be the WEAK LINK on this build. my question is can i trust D&D machine to do it rightthis time??? i have bought roller cam, roller lifters, roller rockers, pushrods for it still in box. you can only imagine how pissed i was to start it up for the first time only to hear it knocking loud enough i only let it run for approx. 1minute.have to video of that. willing to find some way to get it back to you only after we have discuss and inspect the rotating assembly together so theres no complications as to why it failed. and not cut any corners on reasssembling the engine like balancing and so forth.
