Seymour Investigations contacted me and my other family members regarding unclaimed assets in the state of Oklahoma in early 2023. When I contacted that office by phone I was told his company worked for the state of Oklahoma to resolve unclaimed assets. The company wanted our contact information and to work as our representative with the state of Oklahoma. However, in the past month it appears the company is no longer in business — the website is not functional, the phone is disconnected, and emails are not being returned. Despite the fact we are not able to reach the company, Robert *******, the owner of Seymour Investigations, continues to file legal actions asking for payment for his services even though he’s completely unavailable to those with whom he has contracted. I do not believe that this behavior lives up to the standard set by the Better Business Bureau. I believe the Better Business Bureau should take down Robert Seymour’s A+ recommendation. I also believe that the Better Business Bureau should remove this company from their list as his company is no longer in business. If the Better Business Bureau is able to verify that this company is still in business, we would appreciate the BBB helping us make contact with Robert *******. Mr. ******* is continuing to act as his clients’ representative in the Oklahoma court system, even though we are unable to contact him. This has forced us to retain an attorney to help untangle the Oklahoma legal proceedings that Mr ******* started. Just communicating with him could potentially be helpful. Thank you!Business response

First, my company has NEVER REPRESENTED itself as working for the State of Oklahoma. Second, my company is in the process of closing as all of our legal obligations have been fulfilled or are currently in the hands of an attorney to be completed. What this sounds like is an heir to a estate my company did work for who was due to inherit, however the interest in which they are due is tied up from another estate in the line of succession that would require them to get an attorney. Basically, it sounds like this is someone that does not understand the Oklahoma Probate Laws. All of the required documentation by the court was sent to every heir which notified them what work was done by my company and that my obligations are complete. I will be glad to continue this back and forth until the complaint is resolved.Customer response

I already responded to this and I do not see it in my communication history?Business response

NO! This case is tied up in court by their own family. Their own family contested the case which has stopped the proceeding. This case is not in my control and is subject the estate proceeding. They need to call the attorney on the court documents they received. Have they provided a contract with my company? What legal obligation do I have to this person that they have proved to the BBB that would warrant a complaint?
