My house was struck my lightning on 10/10/21. My insurance agent referred me to ******** with Sooner Recon. There was extensive damage to the home. ******** told me that he is a contractor that can handle all my issues. They never finished the job. They had to come out numerous times to fix things they said they fixed. The last time ******** was in my attic was in Feb. 15, 2022. I noticed a leak from the upstairs ceiling on 6/20/22. I sent Wes a text stating I was unhappy with his ductwork. They have caused thousands of dollars in damage because Wes states in a text message that he botched moisture in the attic in Feb 2022 but did not tell me about it until I had problems with the hvac system that they serviced in Feb. 2022. I started leaving reviews of my experience on google, ************ and ****. Since then the company has been threatening me with a lien. After I already paid them $5,158 on 2/15/22. I never heard anything from them in all these months. No paperwork, no receipt (I have a copy of cashiers check being deposited). Now since I have left honest reviews they are harassing me. ******** sent me a text at 441pm on 6/30/22 stating Sooner Recon is filing a lien on my house. Why? I have paid them. They are unhappy that I posted a honest review that they didn't like. And now getting the threats. All I wanted was for them to have to pay my deductible ($1,000) for having to fix their work. I have a ton of text and pictures to prove everything. I don't even want them to pay now. I want the business to leave me alone. When I called them on 6/21/22 I didn't even get a chance to tell them everything. She said "there's two sides to every story" and hung up. I want the harassment to stop. You can easily see my reviews. They are backed up by photos. They are claiming I had someone sabotage their work. Seriously! That is the most ridiculous claim I've ever heard. They're just mad because they didn't do their job and I spoke out. Now they are threatening a lien

      Business response

      08/12/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/07/12) */ We were contracted to help Ms. ******* with a roof repair following a lightning strike at her home. She was very happy with the work we did in October 2021. She has subsequently (June 2022) had an HVAC condensation leak in her attic, and she has contacted us to try to get our company to cover her $1,000 insurance claim deductible for the damage the HVAC condensation caused. When we refused to do so because we had nothing to do with the HVAC condensation pan failure, she became upset and is giving us bad reviews on any platform she can. She says we should have done more to warn her about her attic condition. She admits she does not check in her attic and does not know it's condition because there is no ladder there. Our position is 1) that homeowners have some responsibility on knowing the condition of their home (i.e. she needs to get a portable ladder and check on her attic once in a while to prevent major issues like the one she's having now), and 2) the issue that is making her upset now was absolutely not caused by us or our subcontractors. She's now reaching out to the Better Business Bureau because she's upset we pointed out that there is a balance left unpaid on her account. She is misrepresenting the phone call she had with one of our managing members, saying that we said "there's two sides to every story" and hung up. That absolutely did not happen. We take our customer's concerns seriously, and spent almost 15 minutes on the phone with Ms. ******* in that phone call. No one hung up on anyone. As far as the harassment allegation goes, we simply pointed out to her that due to the fact that she has a previous unpaid balance for work performed, there is always a possibility of us enforcing our lien rights. We have had no more than one conversation with her regarding her outstanding balance, and do not believe it is harassment. In fact, we would be perfectly happy to not have any contact with her in the future and would hope she would feel the same way. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/07/19) */ Wow. I'm amazed at everything they said. We were not on the phone for 15 minutes. I can get that info from my bill if needed. I never said anyone hung up one me. Guess I forgot about that. I have never received a bill. I was told the amount in late Jan and I paid it on 2/15. I honestly can't see anything that they said is truthful, except yes I left honest reviews and yes Wes **** threatened me with a lien via text. I never said anything about them paying $1000 towards my deductible. First time I even thought of that as a solution was when I was writing my complaint. So what am I suppose to do now? I've never been in this situation. I am for what is right! I live with integrity. I feel hopeless. Their response was exactly as expected. All lies. I have NEVER received a bill. Despite that; what about all the work they were paid to do and did not complete. I mean just look at the duct work. It's crazy. Please let me know what I should do next. I'm lost. I'm heart broken over my house. This is why you just can't trust anyone anymore, sadly. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/07/27) */ The homeowner initiated the contact with us and continued to make contact with us over the last couple of months beyond when we originally completed our scope in October of last year. Whatever damage was associated with the lack of maintenance was outside of our scope of work and inconsequential to us. We share the homeowners desire to not communicate any further. I have instructed my employees to not engage with the homeowner under any circumstance. If her desire is to not have further contact with us, we will happily oblige and hope that she does the same. We hope that this is the last communication between us in resolving and closing this matter. We thank the BBB for their service and professionalism.
