Purchased extended warranty coverage on car loan for $1,516.00 policy #**********.First time attempting to use coverage they state repair under section III is not covered. This information is NOT fully disclosed when they market their services. In actuality had I know all the things they did not cover I would never have purchased the extended warranty. Now I am not only out of the $1,516 paid for insurance that won't cover a repair, I am also now at the almost $600 for the repair. Attached is the marketing material they provide to get you to sign up for their product.This is insurance scam in the highest degree.Business response

In response to the above-referenced complaint, you purchased a Vehicle Service Contract from Virginia Credit Union on February 15, 2017. The Vehicle Service Contract can reimburse the repair cost to remedy any covered mechanical breakdown to any component not excluded by the contract, less any applicable deductible amount. Unfortunately, the repair requested, "the evaporative emissions purge valve,” is part of the fuel vapor recovery system, which is explicitly excluded in the Vehicle Service Contract, so we cannot assist with any reimbursement for this repair.
In response to your statement that this information is not fully disclosed when we market our services, please see the highlighted sections of the brochure that you provided with the complaint. The brochure states the fuel vapor recovery system is excluded along with other items. Furthermore, the brochure states to refer to the contract for the conditions of coverage, exclusions, and your duties during the contract term. I have highlighted these parts of the brochure, and included a highlighted copy of the contract, for your convenience.
Concerning your desired settlement, you may request a cancellation of the Vehicle Service Contract, and a pro-rata refund can be provided.Customer response
