Purchased a brand new mobile home from Palm Harbor. They hired *** to install the **** system. The unit was installed one week before move in in May 2023. The unit has not worked properly since move in and Palm Harbor and BLP both are aware of our issue. Two **** companies have checked and both say the compressor is bad. BLP came out in July and now on Oct 2nd they sent two workers out with a new compressor and wouldn't install it because the compressor just happened to be working when they got here. They've installed a "hard start" without my permission and left. The women at their office hung up when I became irritated because she refused to listen to the fact that the compressor only works about two hours a day. They have installed a useless piece of junk and now have made it worse. No one will repair or replace this thing!!!Business response

The customer called the office and stated that the compressor was out and wanted to have it replaced. He had called another company and they came out and checked the unit and told him that the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. I ordered the compressor and when it was delivered, I set an appointment to replace the compressor and drove to the customers home. Upon arrival at the customers home, I checked the a/c unit and found the ac unit was running and working. The customer stated that the unit was intermittent and did not run all of the time. Upon checking the unit, I found that the factory installed hard start had been disconnected and the wires removed. I installed a new hard start and informed the customer what I had found and he became upset and stated that I was lying and that he wanted me to replace the compressor. I informed the customer that I could not replace the compressor under the warranty because it was not bad and he would have to pay for replacing it. At that point, he became upset and started cussing at me and threatened me and I got into my vehicle and left. His wife called my office and called my wife and office manager names and cussed them out. I have recordings of her messages. They are now threatening to sue ***************Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: Lies from ***. We **ntacted *** in July & asked them to check our unit. It had been making loud noises inside, & the temp was staying @ 76 at any setting. No air **ming out in our master bath. 2 *** men came out & they stated our **mpressor was bad. The *** man told us that we should install a "hard start" device on it ourselves because more than likely the warr wouldn't **ver the replacement, even though the unit is new.At this point, we **ntacted a local repairman to **me check it. He agreed it was going out & was only operating about 20% of the time. If we used him, we would have to pay out of pocket,which is unacceptable. We then **ntacted ****** @ Palm Harbor who reached out to ***. They advised him they would order a new **mpressor for us but it would be 2 wks until it arrived. Over the next 2 months, we tried to find out why we hadn't received our **mpressor multiple times. We finally heard back from ***** at the end of Sept stating they received our replacement and they'd be out Oct 2nd to replace. 2 different *** men came out on Oct 2nd & were here less than 15 minutes. The older man installed a hard start device on the sys & tried to leave. He told my husband @ that point that the local man who came to look at it had unplugged the "factory"hard start & that's why it wasn't working. My husband stood next to the local man the entire time was here. Nothing was unplugged. There is also no such thing as a "factory" hard start device & the warranty ** laughed when we told them. We are both very upset with ***. We used foul language. No one threatened this older man in any way. I did not curse at *****. *********, the secretary,refused to let me finish a sentence. We have been lied to for months now by ***. We still do not have a **mpressor that works more than 20% of the time, and we will not pay for this when this unit is under warranty.***********************

I cannot respond to their complaint any longer because they called the people that supply the equipment to me and stated that they were going to file a lawsuit against them and me and I have been advised that I should have no more contact with them.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:BLP cannot reply any longer because they know they installed a piece of equipment on our AC unit without our permission and they know what they stated in their original reply was not the truth. We only want our 4 month old AC to function properly and these inept people have no idea what they are doing. They didn't know what they were doing when they installed the equipment, when they came out to look at it originally, and then again when they came out to install the compressor we were promised and didn't. I cannot believe Palm Harbor would choose to use these people with their incredibly low ratings online. It is a shame for those of us who learned this ****** the hard way.
