Sycamore auto handled an auto body repair on my vehicle. I recently discovered in July 2021 that Sycamore auto did not perform the work as paid. During a subsequent repair, another auto body shop identified several work items that were incorrect, including wrong fasteners, gluing the bumper back on the car, etc. The auto body shop knowing did not do the work properly and knowingly hid the deficient work. I would like to have my $500 deductible returned to offset my personal loss dealing with this matter as I paid another $500 as part of the repair of their deficient work. They have admitted they attempted to cover up the deficient work to another auto body shop and made attempts to sweep this under the rug with the insurance company by in kind compensation with the auto body shop, leaving me with the $500 deductible again. I am asking that they return my $500 because they did not honor the contract and perform the *****d work they were to do on my car.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. The business openly admitted doing improper work. Should this not be able to be settled here, escalating this is now much easier with the self admission of improper work. His *****ments are now factually establishing the knowingly making an improper repair.
The body shop has admitted to doing improper work. Regardless of how many accidents made, I was left in a situation where to complete the work, his improper work had to be corrected. Glueing bumper parts is not the correct way to repair the car. The shop knows that. Sycamore Auto performed a bad repair, have admitted to using a broken part, and is not taking responsibility for the impact of that work. They have not *****d why they made the improper repair other than speculating to save them time and money.
i am not asking for full restitution for the improper work, just the balance of the deductible. Given the admission of doing the bad work to the BBB, I feel I am justified and it is reasonable to offset the deductible cost as restitution for poor workmanship, poor decision making, and improper work performed by Sycamore Auto.
