      Beck Electric and Generator was the only company that called and left the company name and person to contact when a internet site was to have local Generac dealers contact me. I got many calls which did not bother to leave a voicemail to identify themselves so I called Beck's for an estimate. Beck's Sales Manager, Kyle T*****, was very professional and recommended the right size generator for my house. It was not the largest and nor most expensive. The installment team was on time, polite, proficient and even fixed a problem with an outlet without charge. There was inadvertent damage to a wire of my security system. My system's tech came out, found the problem and fixed it a few days later. Kyle T***** had Beck's reimburse me for the security systems service call quickly and apologized for the problem. He also got a mixup about the needed permits corrected quickly. Good service, professional workers and staff are hallmarks of this company.

      Worked with Beck for almost 4 years now. They had a few stumbles out of the gate with quality, but I worked with the owner to try and get by them. Now, three years later after installing my whole house generator, they refuse to service it. The office called me a couple of months ago and asked what they could do for me to remove the low social media ratings I left, and I told them that they needed to decide what they needed to do. They did nothing and now have informed me that they will not service my generator…….AFTER having set up appointments to do so and been a no-show for both of them. I’m sure they work out well for some people if you but hold their feet to the fire they won’t like it. Josh B*** will likely not respond to this review as he knows they did't handle my concerns well at all.

      *** I understand your frustration but we have worked for you in the past and decided it was best if you found another contractor. We haven't completed a job for you in over a year and since we weren't able to make you happy in the past I really don't understand why you would want us to do the work either?

      Called about whole house generator cranking over but not engaging. Sent two guys out and nearly two hours later they “suggested” I get a new generator as mine is “old” and “parts are discontinued”. It is 13 year old. Then the one said he changed out the “starter relay” on it. I am not a well versed mechanic but paid them thinking, if it were anything with the starter then the system wouldn’t crank over (chugging but not igniting). I figured I would wait to see if it would start on the programmed test day. IT DIDN’T!! I went out and tried a Manuel start and still it cranked over but would not engage! According to the “troubleshooting guide” book the fuel solenoid should have been checked, the #14 wire from the engine control board should have been checked, the spark plug, the valve lash and the choke should have ALL been checked and their service document didn’t indicate any of these things had been checked. So I will ask you, why did I end up paying over $400.00 for service/repair I did not get. I have a neighbor with the exact same model of generator who IS a mechanic and said I GOT RIPPED OFF because the system wouldn’t crank if it had anything to do with the starter. Please, please think twice before allowing this to happen to you.

      Thank you for your review ***** but we had advised you at the time of service that the generator was not running properly and that further troubleshooting and repairs were needed. You did not want to proceed. Your generator is also more than 13 years old and is past the life expectancy of an air-cooled generator. I am really not sure how you got ripped off we refunded your payment?

      Andrew B did a fine job servicing our generator! He texted with ETA, called when he was finished and clearly explained what he had done. Punctual, professional and and friendly!

      I purchased a Generac from Beck in 2020. It has a 7 year warranty and they monitor the generator. They told me when it was installed they would know when the unit went down before I did. The unit was down at least 2 weeks before WE not the company that monitors it discovered that it was not working. We waited 2 weeks for service on the unit. We scheduled the service guy to come out and they told us he would be out between 8 and 4. That time frame is unacceptable but we agreed to be there all day. They called at 3 and said the service guy would not be able to make it. The service guy did come another day and it was the battery which, surprise surprise, is not covered under warranty. I was shocked to learn that the batteries only have a 3 year life on them. In the 3 years we have had this unit, we have not had a power outage so I was a little surprised that the battery is obviously of inferior quality having never really been used. I’m wondering how long the battery would actually last if we did have a power outage and it had to run a while? When the maintenance comes due next year we will let it go and the unit will become a very very expensive lawn ornament. The very worse investment we have ever made.

      ****, I am sorry that your experience was not what you had hoped for and I am sorry that you not happy with Generac's warranty but we are just the people doing the work. We don't create the warranty policy we just have to live within it. Just so you know that your generator is in mobile link but it was disconnected from the internet either because of a poor wifi signal or from your internet provider. Again not something we can control. Also sometimes a technician's calls can take longer than expected. Our job is to provide the best service possible so we ask them to complete their jobs 110% before moving on and I know you would expect the same. I do not recommend not completing the maintenance each year because this could void your warranty. Even if you choose to use another company I would still complete the yearly maintenance so that there is no lapse in coverage. Again I am sorry that you had an issue with your generator but I am glad we could get it up and running for you.

      Purchased a water heater from **** ***** for $700 with tax and had it here at the house. Needed someone to install it. Beck sent out 2 guys in a 'wrapped' truck which was a tip off to their prices. They were here for 1.5 hours -- the bill was $914.85. To my way of thinking this bill is ridiculous and way overpriced! No one has ever sent more than 1 man for an install and the price for the work was reasonable. I was asked to sign on an electric pad and have no copies of the transaction other than my cancelled checks when I can retrieve them. I also had to sign that if my checks bounced, I would pay 1.5% interest on any balance. Additionally, they offered a service plan for $19.98/mo. for which I would receive 10% off a service call -- something only a moron would sign up for. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

      ***** I am very sorry that we were not able to build value with you. Our technicians did provide you with an estimate before they proceeded with any work, and at which time you had every right to refuse our estimate and use another contractor. You also had every right to request a paper copy of your invoice be sent in the mail to you which we would have done. Again I am sorry that you didn't like your experience with Beck.

      Please be advised: I DID NOT receive an estimate for the work to be performed by either your technicians or the lady who booked the appointment! I would NEVER have agreed to such an overpriced service. I trusted that you would provide the service at a reasonable price as others have done in the past. 1) You did not perform brain surgery; 2) I do not want to pay for your "wrapped" truck. All that was required was taking the 50-gallon tank into the basement (which I had purchased and had at the house for you), draining the old tank, doing a little bit of soldering, and filling the new tank. How on earth this could account for a $914.85 bill for 1.5 hours work, is something neither I nor several other people can understand. To my way of thinking, this is a fine example of price gouging and you should be ashamed to be charging so much for a necessary service. You're a young person but you must understand that it's fine to make a profit and a business needs to do so--it's NOT ALRIGHT TO MAKE A KILLING! If you exploit your customers, they won't be back!

      I used Beck for quite a few things in a house and apartment I purchased this spring. Easily spent $15k-$20K with them. New generator, wiring updates, phone line installation, ceiling fan installations. They were out here close to 10 times. Lots of positive experiences. Some minor issues early on that Josh made allowances for which was much appreciated, but some negative ones that were sent to Josh via email to which he has decided to not respond. The good -Installation and wiring is largely professional. -Staff is polite -Josh pretty responsive -Office staff is great to deal with Struggles -Left gate open, letting dogs out to roam for hours, no apology acknowledgement. -Generator breaker box looks like a beaver chewed it, no offer to fix -Trim on house not re-secured properly when installing phone lines -No show/no call for appointment -$150 travel charge every time that is not credited to work done (I live close to the office not sure how that $150 is justified) -Cross wired a switch box that was a fire hazard. I don't want to hammer Josh too hard here, as he has done some good work and made efforts to fix mistakes, but I really work to support small businesses and when the owner shuts me down, declines to respond to my concerns when I call him, he creates a frustrated customer. See attached pictures of new breaker box issue and trim issue.
