My family has made multiple purchases from Tom Cater and his staff over the years. Being in business as long as they have, there is a reputation to uphold. We've never felt pressured in any way, have always felt safe in anything we've purchased, and will continue to do business with them as long as they are around.

To sum it up... It is a Used Car Dealership and one that needs a quality control overhaul! Don't let the clean shop and friendly smiles fool you. I don't know how any used car dealership can have an A+ rating. Tom Cater's is no different. Anyway, I know things can be hectic these days and spare time to shop for a car is tough, but make sure to ideally bring a "car" person with you or at least a very detailed checklist AND plenty of time to shop for a car. We were down a car, had a lot going on, and therefore, did not spend enough time inspecting and driving the vehicle on the expressway. Believe me, they aren't going to tell you anything wrong with it, even if the tires do not have legal tread depth, the brakes are about to go out, the vehicle was likely in an accident, despite what the carfax says, the front passenger link pins are shot, or that mysterious hot rubber smell is an oil leak. Even during the warranty period, they go into denial mode. After some pointed complaints, they agreed to have "their" mechanic replace the sway bar (in reality, the guy only replaced the link pins) and a week and a half after the purchase the owner called me and said one of his workers said the front brake pads were about gone and the car should not have been sold before they were replaced. (I'm thinking, what else do I not know is wrong with the vehicle). So, they did eventually replace those and the rotors free of charge. A check airbag light came on right after we bought the vehicle, and because that was not covered by the warranty, it went nowhere. One of our mechanics noticed the front seatbelts seemed to have showed signs of an accident that had happened. Also, one of the backseat belt buckle coverings was buried under the seat and the cover was broken revealing the sharp metal mechanics underneath. However, the hot rubber smell that no one, except for my wife and I seemed to notice was eventually confirmed on our dime, again, with one of our mechanics as an oil leak.
