I had defaulted on my membership back in 2020 during the COVID shutdown because I stopped using public gyms, even after the governor opened the gyms back up. I never received a letter in the mail or anything regarding my past due balance. At the end of 2021 I discovered the GoMad Fitness sent a bill to collections for over $2,700. I am confused how a year membership can result in such a large charge. I tried contacting the facility and they told me I had to contact the collection agency. I have contacted the collections agency several times via phone and mail requesting an explanation of these charges or a breakdown showing how they came up with this amount. Till this day I have not received any explanation. I have no problem paying for the balance I owed on a year membership, but I don't understand how they put a $2700 collection on my credit for less then a year owed.Business response
