I contacted this Lemmons Heating & AC when our air conditioning unit began inconsistently working the first week of July, 2023. The man I spoke to by telephone stated the “repairman” would be here Saturday morning, which he promptly arrived. Upon arrival, he stated the cost would be $120 for the “service call” and an extra amount for the freon needed to bring the AC unit to working order. When the “repairman” finished assessing the AC unit, some twenty minutes later, he returned inside to state he couldn’t repair our unit! However, last year a different company put a freon mixture in the AC unit and it worked great all of summer 2022! This “repairman” still insisted I pay $120 for the “service call.” See AttachedBusiness response

My service tech did arrive at Ms. ******' residence on July 1, 2023. She originally stated that she thought we had been to her home the previous season and added a refrigerant that was 'compatible' with R-22. But we would never add another type of freon to any system other than the freon that was already in the system. Ms. ****** told my tech when he arrived that it was not our company last year but another company from Dayton. My tech did analyze her system and it was more than 'a little' low on freon. He gave her options to repair it and she did not want to her them (too expensive). It is not legal to add another type of freon to a system. It must be the same type of freon. Without knowing what was added last year we recommended recovering what was left in the system and then recharge with an alternate freon (NU-22) which is a considerable amount less than R-22. This is a legimate service call and the fee of $120.00 is expected. However, if she wants a refund I will mail a check out to her. We normally do not give free estimates for repairs. I have to pay the tech and all of the overhead that goes with it.Customer response
