My car was brought to Fischer's with a "Drivetrain malfunction" and check engine lights were on in the dash. The car wasn't running well and didn't have full power when driven (i.e. hesitation, stalling, not shifting on highway, etc.) The car was left at Fischer's for an extended amount of time (weeks) awaiting repair. Eventually, I was told that the repair was completed and was told to pay for and take the car. I went into the office and was asked to pay prior to receiving the key. I paid in full. The receipt stated that the codes were checked, the coils were checked and the spark plugs were "cleaned." It also states something that is illegible "and regop reset system test?" It stated that it was driven and the drive test was ok. Upon leaving in my car, it was immediately evident that it was still having problems, the drivetrain light and check in lights came back on, and my car stalled that evening when I was driving into my driveway. I returned to Fischer's the following week to request a refund, as my car had been there for weeks and was not fixed, even driving worse, upon leaving. The desk person said that she would have to have the owner call me in order to discuss a refund. The owner never did. I have also placed a second call and was told that my receipt was pulled and the President "Bonnie" would call me, but this hasn't happened either. The bottom line is that this business did not fix my car, refused to return my calls, and are unwilling to make this right. I would like the refund of my receipt total of $108.62 for a service not performed as stated.Business response

On 12/06/2021 The customer brought a 2012 BMW 328ix, with 129,430 miles, to our shop for diagnostics. He stated the DT (drive train) and MIL (malfunction indicator light) were on and the vehicle wasn't shifting properly on the highway, and that they had the Air Flow sensor replaced at another garage. The vehicle was dropped off with a near empty fuel tank, so $25 of the bill was for gas only so that we were able to test drive the vehicle for transmission shifting problems. We charge a minimum shop charge for diagnostics equal to 1 hour of labor plus tax. We found multiple diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored in the vehicles onboard computer system and that information was clearly conveyed to the customer on an estimate. The customer was charged a 1 hour, nonrefundable diagnostics charge and the fuel charge necessary to test drive the vehicle for transmission operation and applicable taxes.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The businesses response is an absolute lie. They did not provide any estimate for service based on the codes. They said that cleaning the spark plugs (who does that by the way, wouldn't you replace spark plugs? It's 2022....) anyhow, they said that cleaning the spark plugs off was the remedy for the issue. They never, never communicated any other service that needed done. In fact, when I returned to the business to complain that the car was still having problems and the woman pulled my receipt, she would have told me right then that the reason it was still having issues was because I hadn't had the work done that they had recommended, but this was not indicated on the receipt or anywhere else that continued repairs were needed. I have the receipt, but so does the business, so I don't think attaching it is necessary. In addition, the fact that they have repeatedly refused to return my phone calls, also indicates their avoidance due to malpractice and fraudulent work.
I will say that they did charge us for gas, so that is true, and I will accept the refund with the gas price deducted from it.
