-Hired a cleaning company to clean the office. -No contract was signed, verbal only. -Saturday they cleaned, following Monday, I came to work and wondered whether they'd come. -I took pictures, waited to receive invoice. -We emailed asking if they could come back out to complete the job they'd not done. -Situation escalated, and the person emailing us got very nasty very quickly. -They threatened me with litigation. -They sent me bill for additional $198 for late fee for not paying within 5 days. -Now we find out they don't take checks (I pay by credit card). - At this point, I do not want these people in my office again. I have to hire someone else to do the job. I do not feel I should pay for a job that was not done thoroughly (or at all, frankly), much less a late fee for not paying within 5 days.Business response

The BBB was advised that the invoice was given 2 days after the job was done and was due 5 days later. After the 7 days (when the invoice was due), the consumer stated that she was not satisfied with the cleaning service. When the business asked for clarification on what was not done satisfactorily, the consumer gave examples were not included on the proposal by the business or things that could've gotten dirty again after 7 days. The business stated if they had been notified in a timely manner that they would have come back out. The business now plan to pursue the matter legally.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
We contacted the business the day we received their bill to ask them to come out to complete the job. Dusting counters, cleaning floors, etc. were all tasks listed to be performed, as you can see in the email string between us. These are tasks that were not completed, or not completed satisfactorily. Surfaces that I found dirty were found to be dirty the Monday after they supposedly cleaned them after the building had been empty for the previous two days (we are not open weekends). All I asked was for them to complete the job. They got nasty and argumentative with our very first email asking what services they completed. There was no need for that; they could have just sent the list and we could have resolved the issue. I do not believe I should pay almost a thousand dollars for a job that was not completed as they said it would be, and certainly not to my satisfaction. Again, they could have come back out to resolve this issue, but instead immediately threatened me with legal recourse, which seems a bit extreme for just wanting to get the job done. And again, I'm perfectly happy to pay the price we agreed upon, with a credit card, when the job is finished.

The BBB has been advised by the business that they are standing by their original response to this complaint.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: Again, all I am asking is that they come out and finish the job. I'll be happy to pay them once the job is complete.
