June 8, 2023 7 ******** windows installed in my home for the amount of $7425.00 by Jobmaster Construction, LLC. I hired this contractor after searching BBB for a general contractor . I received an estimate for the windows and specifically stated that I did not want "junk" windows put in this home. October 8, 2023 This is the first cold weather since the windows were installed. I noticed an extreme amount of wind and also rainwater coming in through the track of the 2 west facing windows. The track on the inside of the house on these windows was full of water and debris due to the wind pushing it in. I put a piece of cotton (pictures taken 10/21/23) in the track and it was soaked with water. I texted JMC to voice my concerns as these are brand new windows. October 9, 2023 I sent pictures to JMC of another window in the kitchen that had large gaps on each side of the window. I was told the "windows have a center spot and to balance out the difference between the two and it won't leak...they are a slider, they have giving room in there that's all...find the center and lock it down and they won't leak". After numerous texts the response was I will get fit in when I can and he is in process of building house. 11/9/23 told windows don't leak and to lock them. Numerous text messages back and forth. Finally 12/6/23 JMC, and 2 unkown men were in my home looking at windows.told me they are going to order them 3/8" bigger (no reason why.either workmanship or installation error). I am still waiting on a call about new window installation. 1/5/24 JMC stated he will no longer be working with me and refused to give a name or phone number of who was going to fix this. I am still waiting on a call from who JMC stated was taking care of this. I want my new windows fixed, I want to know who is doing it and when. Per Dave JMC "You will have to handle this on your own, I will give them your name/number and you can go from there, I'm done with you". Texts, pics, video available

Responding to your complaint *****. before we even ordered any windows, I gave you the paperwork on the windows and you accepted the windows. You liked them because they were rated highly from the Better Business Bureau with an A rating, the company and the window We DID NOT put junk windows in your house, JMC does not operate like that. Our Products are Quality and the BEST that we can purchase ALWAYS Yes, you notified me. Second I notified you back and explained to you that I could not get to your house right away that I was busy and that I would be there as soon as possible. I called the Distributor and explained to them what the problem was with the 4 windows. I then came over and took pictures that evening at your house and you were there and we discussed the problems. I then went back to the Distributor with the pictures that we had taken and told them that we needed to have this issue addressed immediately. The manufacturer representative then came with me to your house that afternoon and agreed with both of us that the windows were made a little bit small. The installation he said was fine. The window was 3/8 made too small which then at that time we decided to order you 4 new windows, and this was just before Christmas. I have called them several times and asked them if they have gotten the windows in. The windows are in.And in the middle of all of this you keep texting me and being very angry  and just being very negative to anything that I respond to you about. JMC has done everything in its power to help and make your problem go away. The factory rep said we had good installation. The ball is in their court now I cannot do anything about it and yes regarding back to my text. I told you I cannot help you no longer because you are very hard to work with ***** and I told you that the David was working on getting a schedule that everybody could be happy with. FACT: you have very large windows in the front of your house that face the west and R rating on a window is only 1.5 and you keep complaining about the heat issues with the windows.I am answering your complaint and I have give your number and everything to David at ***** ************ windows and he has tried to call you like you told me on your text that you were in a holler and you couldn’t be reached. You should be calling him this morning and see when is your installation date is going to be. JMC has done everything that we possibly can do to Address your window problem…
      Thank You
      Dave / JMC????

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This is the statement I want to give in response to JMC regarding the windows.

1/31/24: ********* Manufacturing Technician and the Distributor completed the repairs, which included more materials and adjustments on all 7 windows that were installed 6/8/23 by JMC”.

Reason for repairs: “JMC did not properly install and adjust the windows”.

“I am happy with the repairs made to all the windows by the ******** Technician and Distributor, as they are now properly installed. I believe education and installation training should be required for this contractor before more installations are completed for other customers.”

      Thank you

      I am replying back to ***** ***
She said the windows were not probably put in and adjusted correctly. We did exactly what we were supposed to do. We installed the windows and we’ve been doing windows for 30+ years never had this problem before. I don’t know, and I was not there here what the installer said, but when I took the manufacture rep with me to her house that evening to look at the windows, I asked him how the installation looked to him. He said there was no problem with the installation. Then said to me personally the windows were made too small. I was not there today to defend my company form those people now which state anything to make their company not liable for anything very disappointed with both parties. If you read back about her review earlier, she was very happy with our installation, cleanup, and the whole episode and telling me that she loved her Windows that’s what the review says after we installed her windows, you were probably be wondering the same thing for yourself. She said the installation was done professionally very neat and look like we had never been there. Personally, I’m confused. And after the insulation of the windows, she had us come iback in and replace her toilet and repair the floor for her and she was very happy again, so I really don’t know what this woman’s problem is.

March 13th and March 15th, Job Master Construction was hired to fix a hole in the subfloor of a manufactured home that was caused by a hot water leak. The insurance adjuster gave an estimate from the damage. I contacted Job Master Construction March 2nd to give an estimate. They said they could fix the floor and lay laminate flooring in the utility room and kitchen. They quoted me $3600 for the job. Since the toe kick had damaged they said they could cut the pieces of laminate flooring to use under the cabinets for $200 extra. Which was agreed upon for a total of $3800. First day they were there, they fixed the hole in the subfloor but used the 1/2” plywood board I had laying there to use temporarily to avoid falling through the floor. They then installed ********* floating floor in the utility room and half of the kitchen was finished. They were there a total of 4 1/2 hours. They were planning on coming the next day to finish but due to the weather they came the following day. They finished then after working six hours. They never cut the laminate to cover the toe kick after charging me extra for it. They never removed the hot water tank and replaced the flooring underneath the tank. The insurance adjuster said it wasn’t fixed properly. It was like putting a bandaid over it. The floor still feels like a soft spot under the floating floor because they didn’t use the right plywood and it’s uneven. I didn’t even know they used my plywood until I went to look for it. After the job was completed, I noticed the flooring was discontinued and purchased at a discounted business. I should have seen a flag when I was never asked anything about color or choices of flooring.

In regards to Sharon ******** complaint…
We were hired to fix a small area of floor in front of the hot water tank which we did.Moved the washer and dryer out of the way. I tore out the old flooring reframed working area.
The customer was there the whole time. I had her come out and check the reframing before I put the plywood down. When I put the plywood down, I brought her back out again and we both stood on the area and it was very solid. Then my job was to put a floating floor, tongue and groove down through the entranceway and into the kitchen, which we did
We put down ********* tongue and groove heavy duty flooring. And then had her check everything and make sure it was done the way the way she wanted, before she paid the other half of her remaining balance. She did and she was happy, week later her ex-husband is calling me saying that we did not do it right. And I told him I fix the floor in the trailer to the best of my ability, which we did I never seen the letter that she has here from her insurance company. She said Her exhusband had already taken out the hot water tank and put 2 x 4 floor over top of the floor area. I was not there to fix the hot water tank area only in front of the tank where the water came out from the leaky pipe where the 3’ x 4’ piece of half-inch plywood was lying over top. of the hole. I did not charge her $200 more to fix the threshold in front of the door I bought the new floor up against the threshold as tight as we could. She did not want to pay extra for  baseboard to be put around the entire working area she said she would take care of that at a later date. I would like to see the information from her insurance agent that said we did not fix the floor right and I would like her to take a core sample and measure the three-quarter plywood floor that we put back down we did not use the wood that she had over top the hole when we arrived. I cleaned up the mess and threw all of the material away and the rotten that we took out the floor, it took almost 2 days to put the floor down. If her husband was so concerned about the floor he should’ve been there to check on it. I got into the kitchen area. We could not return the next day because there was icy storm that morning and some snow, so we return the following morning. that area she is complaining about could have been looked at that night and that whole day before we returned and before we went any further, if there was a problem, it could’ve been dealt with at this time , but there was no complaints. We finished putting the floor down . We had a happy customer I will stand behind the repair in the floor that we done.
we done exactly what my Estimate-Bill stated.Thank You

The $200 extra was for the kitchen base cabinets that you said you could custom cut to fit over the existing toe kick to make it look nice which you decided not to do.  That is why I could like to see a detailed bill for the charges of $3800 I paid you for.

Purchased three prehung doors for $900.00 between August of 2021 and October of 2021. Received all three by early October of 2021. Went to install the doors two weeks ago and found that they were not the correct size. My door entries require a 30" pre hung door as the opening is 32" wide. The contractor gave me 3 28" pre hung doors. As he was the one who stated he took the measurements, I feel that he is responsible for the error. I can't make the doorways any smaller or I will never be able to move furniture in and out of the rooms. I either want a refund for the doors or I want the correct doors exchanged.

This was by far the worst experience that I have ever had with a contractor. I will never use him again , and I will let everyone else know what he did to me. This contractor made an error and continuously blamed me for his mistake. I paid for 3 finished doors with black hinges, and his idea of making it right was delivering 3 unfinished doors with nickel hinges, two of which were broken. What a coward to call and say he delivered my doors and then hang up. I guess this can only be resolved in small claims court.
