      In August, our air conditioner started making noises. We turned it off and called Airtron, We have a service agreement in place. They could not find a record of it although they had been out to check and clean our furnace under that agreement. They reinstated it and included it in their visit to investigate the problem. The tech (David) said the blade and capacitor had a problem. Parts were ordered with a 3 week delivery delay. We were called a week later and told parts were in. The approaching weather was going to be in the 90's, so we were delighted. David came back to install the parts. Parts included a new fan, capacitor and motor. David told us they did not fit, and since our unit was almost 18 years old, we would need a whole new air conditioner. I told him I would want to investigate further before putting one in. He told me he wasn't lying to me. This is what we needed. They could put one in right away. I was called by Rob who had to check to find what size we needed in the records. He said it would be a 3 1/2 ton and they could put one in right away for $6500-$7000, depending which model I wanted. He also wanted to know if I wanted to replace my furnace too. Since it was gas and the air conditioner was electric, I have no idea why that would be necessary. I also told him I wanted to investigate this further. He told me slots were filling up quickly and if I wanted to get one in quickly, I needed to order soon. I had a good friend who was previously a heat/air man come out. He tested the equipment and determined the capacitor was not working. He took it to a parts shop. Since it was not bulging, he had them check it too. Not working. $40!!!!! to buy a new one. He installed it. No other parts needed. Air working perfectly. Difference between $6500-$7000 and $40. Either I was being lied to or they were incompetent. You decide. I won't deal with them again and will cancel my service agreement. Don't want them near my property.

      Airtron is the only company to have worked on our HVAC since they installed the system in 2010. The York system has been nothing but issues with Airtron out 7 out of 10 years under the warranty. System was not cooling 2 wks ago so they sent a tech out to check it out. Low coolant was the 5 minute diagnosis but tech did not have time to find the leak so he put coolant in and the system started to cool. Schedule "leak" check for following Wed. and tech only hooked up gauges and stated they COULD NOT do a dye check for a leak. Tech's suggestion was to get a new system with a price between $11,300 to $20,000 without even a test being done. Had a second opinion via a friend who completed a nitrogen pressure check and the system held pressure. With several adjustments that Airtron installed incorrectly, addition of refrigerant at the proper level, the system has been working perfectly for 48 hrs. The kicker is that when the refrigerant was added, it was a bit more than the system could handle. When the excess refrigerant was released, a green dye also came out of the system indicating Airtron had previously dye tested the system. Needless to say, Airtron will not be getting my hard earned money in the future.

      They charged me in advance for the plan. not even sent a technician. I canceled it right away on the day of the purchase, they did not do a refund me. I have not received any service.

      Had a new home built. They installed the hvac system.my first winter in the home the air intake return froze solid and carbon monoxide was coming into the home. Tech showed up and said “oh it’s frozen” and left didn’t have a ladder was unprepared. Next day another tech came and used a heat gun to thaw. The condensation line was an issue upon move in. Did not have the right angle to drain the furnace continuously smells like shouldering wood and they can’t tell me why and now my condensation line is frozen solid in my attic and water is running down my walls into my carpet and no one can come. It is horribly incompetent company and their response to emergencies that their installation caused in deplorable!

      HVAC INCORRECTLY SIZED FOR NEW HOME – My home was built in 2012 by Drees Homes. I purchased it from the original owner in Summer 2015. My HVAC system has been serviced annually by a bonded and insured heating and air company. The heat exchanger in my HVAC recently failed annual inspection. A heat exchanger is equivalent to an engine in a vehicle, meaning it is the heart of the system and cost-prohibitive to replace. While failing, it also leaks carbon monoxide into the home, thus it is a very serious issue. The industry standard life expectancy for a HVAC system is 15-20 years--mine failed at almost 10 years. My HVAC company said it failed because the furnace and air conditioner were both originally SIZED TOO SMALL FOR THE HOME; to wit, approximately half the size required for the square footage of my home, which caused the heat exchanger to prematurely fail. I didn’t realize it, but my furnace was showing signs years earlier, such as the furnace faulting when the house got too cold, and the HVAC not being able to keep up with more extreme temps in the summer and winter. Consequent to my failed inspection, I received three independent, written analyses from HVAC companies confirming the inadequate HVAC size. The installer (name not relevant) claimed no responsibility, saying the original HVAC sizing was done by AIRTRON HEATING & AIR, Cincinnati, OH, contracted by Drees Homes. Neither Drees Homes nor Airtron took any responsibility for the mistake and I am out $16K for a new HVAC. Note that AIRTRON STILL CONTRACTS WITH DREES. I want current/potential Airtron customers and other Drees Homes customers to be aware that this could happen to them, and to check their HVAC to determine if it is correctly sized, and if so to act ASAP.

      We just moved into a house that is 2 years old and the air conditioning stopped working. We had an Airtron technician come out and within a couple of minutes he determined that it was a capacitor within the A/C unit. My issue was not with the service but the bill. I found a capacitor on Amazon for $10.50. So I paid $360 for a part that I could buy on Amazon for $10.50 that took 1 minute to replace that had failed within 2 years. Normally you are gouged like this only by the healthcare industry.

      We had our unit replaced a little over a year ago. On friday 5/21 we came home from baseball game and it was 88 in our house. The AC unit was not working. We called the 24hr service line and they said they was booked for the night but someone would call use around 7:30 Saturday morning. Come Saturday it was working again. No one ever called use back. we come home last night 5/27 house was back up to 77. Again unit is not working. Called again last night. They did return our call today to tell us they cant come out till Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. Mid you this is 24hours service. They Gentleman on the phone was very Rude! He did not want to help us at all. I telling us we never called them on the prior friday. I have it on my phone where we called at 11:09 pm call lasted 5mins 18sec. He told my husband he was lying and he never called. Tuesday was the best he could do. And now they are refusing to come and look at the unit at all. They said they would send us a list of people in the area that would honor that warrant and come look at it. This was at 9am 5/28. It is now 4:10pm on 5/28 still have not received the list. I called back asking for it and he said sorry I emailed Todd asking for it have to wait on him. So now I wont get anything from them till at least Tuesday. and have to try different company. They had no problem Taken the money when we purchased the unit but they don't want to fix the issues with it!
