      Hello-

We are responding to complaint # ********

After sending this customer an statement for the work that we completed he gave our service department a

call on 03-07-22 and was unhappy with the amount of time that we charged him.  We advised him to pay whatever he thought was fair.

on 06-28-22 we sent the customer a past due invoice by mistake.  On 07-07-22 the customer sent us a letter and a check for 50.00.  Even though not all allegations are accurate we are returning the customers check for 50.00 and will be writing off the rest.  The invoice total was 167.05.

Please let us know if you have questions or need anymore information.  Attached is a copy of the customers check that we will be returning to him in tomorrow’s mail 07-13-22.

      Thank You-

I had RT Hampton install a 32 x 32 bathroom shower in my mudroom on 6/22/2021. It had marks on the walls that could not be removed. They replaced 2 walls that still had marks on 9/21/2021. I paid the bill of $1300. All the installers knew I was putting a glass shower door on afterwards. We then had the walls drywalled around the shower and painted the walls. ******** ****s came to install the door and was unable to install due to no wood for support behind the wall. When I contacted ***** ********* the service manager at RT Hampton he said they could remove the shower wall and place wood but it would be chargeable. I do not feel a homeowner should have known what is required to have a glass door placed on an installed shower. I now need to reopen the wall and redry wall and paint. This is a contractor's responsibility to know how to install a shower. Please see the attached letter that was sent to ****** ******** president of RT Hampton on 1/11/2022 with no response.

      Business response

      03/01/2022

On 02-25-22 the owner of the company and the journeyman plumber that completed the work met with the homeowners on site.

The work that was completed by RT Hampton was gone over and discussed in detail of what we did and what we provided. We were hired to demo and replace the shower and install a Moen faucet with trim.

RT Hamptons work was completed correctly.  Two other contractors were hired to do the carpentry/finish work.  ******** ***** sold the homeowners a custom shower door that is not compatible with the shower. The shower door was selected by the homeowners.

The owner of RT Hampton and the journeyman plumber were able to come up with a solution to be able to install a custom shower door that will work.

The homeowner’s handyman/carpenter who did the drywall work for them will be able to install backing so the install of the shower door can be completed.

After the meeting was over the homeowners understood the process of the work and were appreciative that we (RT Hampton) were able to come up with a solution.

The owner told the homeowner that we will follow up to see how the work was going.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** *******5, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  The company came up with a solution which was performed.  The shower door was installed without difficulty. I consider this complaint resolved. I do hope that in the future, that there is more communication/discussion with the homeowner concerning shower style versus door. I appreciate the owner and the journeyman coming up with a solution.
