I would not recommend this company. What started out to be a good experience from a trusted recommendation, in the end it turned out to be disastrous and stressful. The people who gave a 5 star rating review should consider themselves very lucky. I had to hire a third party to inspect and fix areas of the roof because of poor workmanship and basically lack of knowledge and lies. Vinyl siding was slashed, fascia was dented, workers were standing in the gutters, there were black marks from the shingles on the vinyl, white pillars, gutters. Shamrock did send out two people to try and take care of the marks. When we asked questions, we were given unbelievable excuses and depending on who you talked to conflicting explanations. We had heavy rains on July 3 and July 14. An email was sent to Rob at Shamrock on July 3 to inform him that we heard rain dripping on the inside of the fireplace vent. We never heard back so we placed a call on July 15 after another heavy rain on July 14. Rob said he never received the July 3 email but would contact us on Monday to set up a time to come out and check the area around the vent. Instead, he sent an email Monday saying he was not responsible for the vent and after conversations with both me and my husband refused to even check anything and hung up and said he was done with us. Do not be fooled by all the 5 star rating reviews. I hope this will at least give a person pause to talk to several roofers before hiring and please compare prices.

We do not recommend this customer. We strive to make everyone happy, unfortunately it was impossible this time. The project started when we helped get their entire roof replacement approved by insurance. We welcome any price comparisons, as this $30k project only cost them a total of $750 out of pocket for a beautiful new roof which has never leaked once. We were very pleased with this result, but nothing made these customers happy. We have been on site a half dozen times to address their issues. The "slashed" vinyl siding was due to our proper installation of a rain diverter (per code) on a head wall. This has been explained and we even provided the code until they were satisfied. One piece of fascia had a small dent which we could not verify was there in any before photos, so we replaced it without question at no cost. Sometimes, torn off shingles will come in contact with other materials and can leave a black mark. When this happens, we do the right thing and clean the marks off. In this case, our crew not only cleaned off a few black marks on their siding, they stayed for two days wiping down the entire house and gutters at her direction until satisfied. This is the first we have heard of workers standing in the gutters, and trust me...if it happened they would have let us know. She states they emailed on 07/03, but our CRM automatically records any texts, phone calls, or emails sent and received. The very first contact we had about rain dripping into their fireplace was on Saturday 07/15. Her complaint about a fireplace was confusing, since there is no chimney on the roof. We followed up first thing Monday morning by phone as well as by email including before and after photos. After speaking to her and reviewing photos together, we found out she was referring to a B-vent exhaust stack. We explained that during heavy wind driven rain droplets can get into the rain cap on top of the vent, which is 2 to 3 feet up off the roof. Photos were emailed and explanations were given. She was confused so we said we were happy to come out to perform a leak test to assuage her concerns. She wanted us to explain the procedure to her husband, so I spoke to him that evening. I told him we would spray water from a hose all around where the pipe meets the roof. He was furious! He stated he was sure it wasn't coming in from the roof because he had been in the attic and everything was dry. He said he knew it was, in fact, coming in from around the top of the pipe. When we tried to explain to him that was not a roof leak and we had not worked on the pipe other than to spray paint it to match the roof, he started cursing and threatening me. We would have still been happy to come out and show them this was not due to our roof installation and also just to prove that we stand behind our work. However, once curses and threats were made we didn't feel safe and their appointment was cancelled. We absolutely deny hanging up on our customer, the call was terminated from their end. Our roof passed inspection by ******** County and their third party couldn't find anything wrong with the roof, even stating it looked good. The only thing he proposed doing was nailing the leading edge of the pipe boot flashings, which is not a proper installation. We didn't argue with the homeowner since she had already been so difficult to work with...we just took his $250 invoice off of her bill to make her happy which we now see is an impossible task. It definitely was not from our lack of trying. Shamrock Restoration has a 4.9 Star Rating on ****** from 80+ customers, and we have served hundreds of additional local residents with excellent work that exceeds their expectations. The manipulated facts that *** has in his reply to my review are not surprising in the least. I have the July 3 email sent 8:28 am to him that he said he did not receive. He has tried this excuse in the past. I have pictures of a raised shingle that I sent to the insurance company because ***'s "supervisor" said that was how it should be to divert water. Totally false. For the record the County did not see the faulty work because they just did a drive-by. The problems were in the back of the house and you wouldn't be able to see the slashed vinyl from the street. And the County does require a permit that *** did not want to take up his time getting and because other contractors told him not to bother because they didn't. Vinyl would not be slashed if the installation was done correctly. There isn't a code I am aware of that makes that acceptable. Your "supervisor" was informed of everything including workmen in the gutters, etc. To be perfectly clear, I reported the marks on the house to ***** your supervisor but I never at any time gave any directives as to what or how they should clean. This is a complete fabrication by ***. ***** also said you fired the crew that worked on our roof. Not one time was there any apology for damage or things that went wrong. As far as being confused, the only person confused in all of this is ***. I don't know how many times he had to be reminded that we did not have a chimney but a fireplace vent. You also referred to it as our furnace vent which is not on our roof. *** continued to look at the wrong vent. I kept referring to the large round fireplace vent but he was looking at something completely different. I was present during ***'s conversation with my husband. My husband kept trying to explain that he knew it was not a roof leak but felt it had something to do with the fireplace vent. *** as usual would not listen to what was trying to be conveyed to him and just kept talking over my husband and around the subject at hand. After at least 15 minutes of trying to get across any information my husband finally became completely frustrated and yelled that we never had any problems with the fireplace vent until after Shamrock did their job. *** was never threatened at any time and needs to clarify what threats were verbalized to him. Again, *** will play it to the *** and fabricate what is in his best interest to deflect from his shortcomings. His 6 years in business show a lack of knowledge and most certainly an inability to listen to what people are trying to explain to him. There was absolutely no damage on any part of our home until Shamrock worked on the roof. Again, lies and manipulation of facts to make Shamrock appear in a good light and deflect blame. Your accusation that nothing would make me happy is false. Good communication and a quality job is key to a customer being happy. As a reminder, work was started without a signed contract. I didn't have 3 days to change my mind. I had just received the initial payment check from my insurance company and was reprimanded by ***'s father that I didn't have the required signatures to hand over the check immediately. The bank is closed by the time I get mail. I paid out-of-pocket to have a third party take a look at the roof because I was not comfortable that things were done correctly. I was not 100% wrong contrary to what *** tries to convey. I believe this is a huge part of the problem. We no longer hear the dripping sound in the fireplace vent. It was properly addressed and taken care of which should have been done by Shamrock. Lastly, the other repairs done to the roof by the third party were absolutely proper repairs done to improper installation and workmanship - these repairs were also approved by ***). Again, the 5 star reviews are very lucky people. I would rather have been able to give 5 stars.
