I bought a car here. I was told by the salesperson Justin, after pulling my credit report, that I would get 1.9% financing. While waiting to go back to the "main office" for them to sell me many more features, Justin had me go back with him to the parts department to buy the car mats. As we walked back to parts, I saw a sign on the wall that said there was a special deal for college grads. I asked Justin about the deal. He asked me if that applied to me. I said yes. He said he would check to see if it was "too late" to get that deal. He talked to someone and came back and said that I could get the deal but that my interest rate would be 2.9%. The deal was $500 off the price of the car. However, the interest rate went up right when they gave me the $500 "deal". I have requested in writing for them to show me why the interest rate was higher. They refuse to put it in writing and blame it on Honda Finance. Raven at Honda Finance said it was not them and they did it in an effort to recoupBusiness response

****,
I apologize for the slow response on this, as I missed it in my email. I will talk to the team and we will reply back with an explanation and/or resolution.

Honda Financial Services does not allow a dealership to raise a rate from their special incentives to make more money. If we would have done any rate other than what Honda Financial Services stated, then the deal would have not processed. If a customer is granted a loan from Honda Financial Services it is based upon their credit worthiness deemed by Honda Financial Services, not by a franchised dealership.
The special finance incentives for a 2021 CR-V from Honda Financial Services at the time of her purchase were as follows:
Credit Tier 1-3 1.9% x 48 Months
Credit Tier 4-8 2.9% x 48 Months
******* qualified for a 2.9% based on her tier 6 credit qualifications per Honda Financial Services.
******* did receive her "College Grad" rebate of $500.00. These disclosures were reviewed in her paperwork for the purchase.
*******'s accusations of us raising the rate to make money to "recoup" our $500 loss is not the case. Whether or not a customer receives an incentive for any monetary value towards their loan paperwork, is completely separate from the dealership and the interest rate approved. The dealership does not pay this incentive money out of pocket, nor does it cost us any money to grant the incentive, as long as it is approved by Honda Financial Services, as they are the ones providing the incentive.
There would be no need to do either of the two things stated within the complaint, as neither of these accusations would have benefited or hindered our dealership. We were perfectly following Honda Financial Services guidelines as there is no room for manipulation.
Our salesperson Justin, who helped ******* through this process, has repeatedly tried to explain this information to her. He has reached out through phone calls, texts, and emails, while receiving no response on behalf of *******. We value our customers and would appreciate the opportunity to review this with *******.
We can attach all supporting information (rate sheet, *******'s approval, ect.) if needed.
Thank you

Their response states that I have not responded to them after the salesperson reached out to me. I have emails on 7-30, 7-31, 8-10 where I have repeatedly asked them to send me in writing how they came up with the 2.9% financing. I asked when I was in the dealership but was told it was "too complicated". Justin said that the finance company goes by three different scores. However, it was agreed upon at 1.9% until I asked about the graduation deal that they had. Then, the finance rate went up to 2.9%. While on the phone once with Justin, I also asked him about this. He said it was complicated how they come up with the rate. When pressed how to find out how they come up with it, he gave me no answer. I asked him if I called Honda Financial Services, would they be able to tell me and he told me no. I did call their office and I spoke to a woman on 8-28. I hope the call was recorded so it can be listened to because I was told to always take an older man with me if I bought a car. The representative then said that dealerships will do this sort of thing. That was direct from someone at Honda Financial Services mouth on 8-28. I believe I referenced her name in the original complaint. I asked Justin several times both on the phone and via email (which I can provide paper copies of the emails) for him to email me back how the 2.9% finance rate was arrived at. Honda Financial Services is blaming it on the dealership. Honestly, I did not want to discuss this with Justin over the phone because I wanted a paper trail on this. I find it odd that we agree on 1.9%...I see a sign about a special deal for new grads....then the rate gets changed to 2.9%. Again, since Honda Financial Services is blaming it on the dealership, please provide me with a written (typed) breakdown of how you arrived at a 2.9% rate. BBB - while I was going back and forth on this with the dealership, they then asked me for copies of my paystubs. I had only went to the dealership that day to put a down payment down on the car because they told me they did not have the car yet. However, Justin called me on my day to the dealership and said that the car arrived several days early and that I could buy it that day. That was good news. However, I did not have paystubs with me. I specifically asked Justin when I was there if I needed to go back home and get my paystubs. he told me no. He said that I would not need them. Fast forward....I have the car at my house, we have filled out all paperwork, I gave them a $3000.00 down payment...and they asked me for paystubs. ???? I also received a voicemail from a gentleman who said that he was with ******** Hyndaui and he wanted to talk with me about a car that I purchased from them. ???? I did not buy a car from ******** Hyndaui. A while later, the same man leaves another message and says that he is with Buckeye Honda. I have bought several cars from this dealership and have gotten really good service. This time has been awful and I will assure you that my family members and I will not purchase another vehicle here. For the mere fact that you the person who responded to my complaint that there has been no response. ???? Please check your records again. I would like a breakdown either typed or written that shows how Buckeye Honda or Honda Financial Services came up with the 2.9% financing. This should have been sent to me the first time that I asked for it from Justin. I did not ask for a phone call to discuss it over the phone. I asked for a paper trail. Thank you. I would also like someone to talk with Justin and ask him if we had agreed on the 1.9% financing. If you look at your video surveilance, you will see how I questioned him when I got to the paper about the 2.9% and he wanted me to sign it.
