I attempted to cancel my member during the initial 7 day cancellation period per IJL's contract and was told I would be unable to get refund. I was interviewed about my preferences and what I was looking for in terms of age, race/ethnicity, height, marital status, etc. It was implied that I would be going out on a lot of dates however, I was lucky to have gone out on the 3 of 4 dates offered to me in a three month period for 2300 dollars. The only thing IJL honored from my preferences was the dates were with single men. They are only trying to fulfill their contracts but don't actually have the clientale to conduct matches based off of client preferences. I also believe that IJL fabricates the matches profiles for this same reason. My matches told me things that were totally different from what was reported by IJL. My first match was not the height or the race/ethnicity that I was looking to match with. I was told that he was a pet lover and that he enjoys traveling. The match told me how he cooked and fed his children's pet chicken to them and then told them. Also, I when I spoke with him about traveling he informed me that he doesn't like to traveling because he use to do so for work. My second match also wasn't within my preference guidelines. He is almost 50 years and lives with his parents whom I believe may have been responsible for paying for his IJL membership based off of conversation during our date. IJL set me up with a gentleman who is Greek only looking for a realtionship with a Greek woman per his mother's wishes. Needless to say I am African American and was told by him that we could never be in a relationship, his mother wouldn't allow it. Match no. 3 was 15 years my senior and a good number of years outside of the age range that I provided or was interested in dating. At this point IJL has been made aware of on serveral occasions on what my preferences were and yet again I was contacted for a 4/final date outside of my criteria of which I declined.
