Received a bill dated 06/02/2023 for a balance from May 2023. On 06/14/2023, received a collection notice from AmerAssist dated 06/08/2023. I thought it had to be at least 30 days from date of notice to send someone to collections? Shady practice.Review from Sarah B

Received a phone call from this company. They asked me to verify my date of birth, address and social security number. I politely ask for the name of the company. The lady said she could not disclose that information. The name.. they couldn’t tell me who the hell they work for before I gave them MY personal data. I politely said that I did not feel comfortable sharing personal information with a random person calling who couldn’t provide a company name. The lady so rudely responded with “I already have your information in front of me so why don’t you just verify it.” As I said “no thank you I am not comfortable sharing my info with you”I was met with “then I guess this debt is your problem”.Review from Heather M

I was expecting an important call about medical test results when I received a call from this number I did not recognize. I answered even though I was at work, because again, I was expecting an important call. When I explained I could not talk the Amerassist rep was incredibly rude, saying I shouldn't have answered the phone if I was at work and couldn't talk to him. I believe the way he spoke to me counts as harassment and breaks the law about debt collections. It is none of his business how I treat my phone calls at work. Please talk to your people about their conduct.Review from Bridgett S

I have an Amerassist collection item on my report that is a result of identity theft. The item was initially removed by all 3 credit bureaus then put back on my credit. a 2nd time. I have tried to reach out to the company to no avail. The customer service is non-respondent.Review from Jantsen D.

I was sent a link via text message to make settle a debt, which I paid in full through the provided link. A couple weeks later it showed up on my credit report when I called to ask about it, they told me that if I would have sent a money order or money gram that it wouldn't have been submitted to reflect on my credit history. I feel the text message was misleading and unfair to report on my credit history if they wouldn't have done it had I sent a money order. Also, this information prior to would have been appreciated. I do not answer spam calls, but if you can text me to pay a debt you can also text me the options/consequences of different payments or include it on the hyperlink when i made the PAYMENT IN FULL.Review from Joel J.

this company put a **** dollar debt on my credit that has been a hassle trying to remove. I had paid the dentist in full and still having to deal with this. it is very funny the dentist dropped there claim on my credit but AMERASSIST wants to leave it there and ruin my life. very rude and unfortunate!Review from Chelsea

Credit card, debit card or bank account payments shouldn’t even be offered if the payment isn’t going to be removed from the credit report. I tried to pay the full balance today and they want me to get a money order or a money gram in order for them to remove it from my account. That’s completely unfair as I do not have additional funds and they just want me to call back after I get more money. ********, the woman that I guess is on my case, is condescending. I tried to get my questions answered by another man who decided that he was just going to send me right back to ******** after I asked to speak to him. There is one older woman who answers the phone and she seems to be the only one that isn’t condescending. Unfortunately, I didn’t get her name. I will be trying to deal with the company that I accrued the debt with to begin with instead of Amerassist..
