Very unprofessional. Always have an excuse for why not done right. Finished project, but left project looking worse than when we started. Have been trying for a year to get it right, but didnt. Would NEVER use them again or recommend to anyone.

First of all, we are very sorry that the window provided by Menards was not designed the way that you had hoped with the grids on the lower sash. This was an unfortunate set of circumstances that led to this issue and in hindsight, I wished I had special ordered all of the windows that were replaced. That said, I went with the advice of one of the store employees working in that department and in the interest of saving you money, we took the window that they had on hand as long as it was the right size. Going back further though, just to fully explain this to anyone else reading this complaint, if you recall, you had us come out to check on some possible rot behind the siding of the front window. We inspected that and found that there was indeed some rot. Once the siding was removed, we found the rot to be far more extensive than expected and it had actually compromised the 2x4's supporting the 3 windows. We discussed your option to replace all 3 windows since we had to take the weight off of the 2x4's holding the existing windows in place and you advised us that you did in fact want the windows replaced with new windows. At that point. we informed you that this would turn into considerably more money than initially thought. Due to this, we were trying to save you money where we could and one way was to purchase windows that someone had in stock. The windows arrived and we purchased the one window that was in stock as advised by the associate that ordered the other two windows. When we arrived at your house with the windows, we proceeded to remove the old framing and the windows along with it. Only when we started to install the windows, did we find that the window that was sold to us was in fact the wrong type of window for that application. We were in somewhat of a bind at that point considering the first window order took almost 3 months to get to the store and we had already taken out your existing windows. This is important for anyone reading this to keep in mind that we were in the midst of a pandemic that occurs only once a century. Because of this, the shipping in 2021 was a complete mess. We decided we would install the window that we had on hand and assumed that we could very easily just replace the lower sash that had the grids. We ordered it from Menards 3 different times only to get the wrong window each time even though we explained to the associate ordering the window the exact specs had to be the same as the windows they have in stock. Each time, that shipment took between 2 and 3 months to arrive which dragged the process out even longer. When we received the last sash/window, I offered just to take everything back down that we had done and replace the full window and you insisted that you did not want us to go to the trouble. I asked you several times and reassured you that I did not mind. Nonetheless, the windows were installed properly, the rot was repaired and we went to the extra step of wrapping the new windows as best we could so that the water damage won't happen again and I do stand behind that. Again, I'm sorry you were not satisfied but we are still willing to fix the fact that the lower sash doesn't have the grids as you wanted.
